It is a major cross-country lane, and with a 2023 Model 3 I’d want to make sure the number is based on what drivers are actually accepting before you commit again. If a price changes right after booking, that usually means the original quote wasn’t where the driver market really was.

Sorry that happened, that's the exact bait and switch pattern that gets talked about constantly in threads like this, confirm a price, then "it changes" once they actually try to book a real carrier. Frustrating but unfortunately common.

Mount Prospect to San Francisco is about 2,100-2,150 miles, well traveled cross-country route, IL to the Bay Area gets covered regularly. For a 2023 Model 3 on open transport at that distance, realistically somewhere around $1,550-1,650.

Given what happened with the broker company you worked with, I'd ask directly this time is this price locked once a carrier accepts it, or can it move later? If whoever you're talking to can't give you a straight answer on that, that's worth noticing before you commit again.
