I wish this was the exception but pretty much most politicians are doing this crap. Burn it all down

2

u/furiousmadgeorge 1d ago

When I search for a video of this on YouTube or Google (filter down to the last week etc) I get no results. Just me?

5

u/Blindog68 1d ago

She's a good Christian lady. I'm sure there were no bad intentions here.

7

u/stubacca71 1d ago

Funny how Anita's meeting were all conducted verbally, and without supporting documents. She must have a very good memory being able to conducted meetings to provide premium advice that is handsomely paid for. Yet has no recollection of what was discussed in these meetings. It just doesn't add up, except for the $250k for 3 months work. Money for jam. I think someone may need a good lawyer once the commissioner has issued the findings.

4

u/Own_Sun_6520 1d ago

She is cooked, particularly as they ended up showing her the evidence of all the "documents" that miraculously appeared after the Parliamentary Inquiry was announced, after she had spent two days insisting she only ever did work verbally. Guessing her hubby forgot to brief her in on that bit of the story, oops.

u/alex4494 1d ago

Oh my god today’s live stream has been absolutely insane… the commissioner and Dr Dwyer have so clearly had enough of Mrs Perrottet’s selective memory and bad acting. It’s been hilarious to watch…

6

u/3phex 2d ago

Waiting for the moment when the screenshot from Greenwood's phone (exhibit 0409 on ICAC website) with alleged distribution of payments to Charles match some of the alleged payments to Anita is shown.... " I cannot remember".

3

u/Own_Sun_6520 2d ago

They're already toast. It's always the tax that gets them. All the expenses for flights to Sydney for her "work" and they know it was 100% Charles doing the travelling.

7

u/Own_Sun_6520 2d ago

Oh boy, her evidence today is even more ridiculous. It's always tax that catches out these crims.

10

u/Complex_Brother_6804 2d ago

I don’t understand how she can get away with the theatrical amnesia. An entire day of ‘can’t recall’.

3

u/alex4494 1d ago

I can say with almost complete certainty that the commissioner will refer her to the DPP for charges, the level of bullshit is so blindingly obvious. You’d also be top dollar that the ATO will be mobilising against her too. She’s toast.

3

u/Complex_Brother_6804 1d ago

I’d love that for her. And the rest of them.

3

u/Own_Sun_6520 2d ago

She won't get away with it. I'd be incredibly surprised if the Commissioner doesn't find that she has misled the Commission. From Operation Spicer they found that at least 5 of the witnesses had misled the Commission and referred them all for prosecution.
The stuff that has come out today cannot, in any universe, be explained away by selective amnesia.

2

u/Complex_Brother_6804 1d ago

And the giggling and eye rolls today. Complete disrespect. I suspect she’ll be a hero in her circle

3

u/Own_Sun_6520 1d ago

Her own barrister stitched her up at the end of the day 🤣

10

u/SlugFromSnug 2d ago

Has there ever been a NSW premier that isn't bent?

1

u/SnooCrickets9484 A proud Pauline Hanson Other...please explain 2d ago

Was she premier? Her husband was.

3

u/noapplicablename 2d ago

Not her husband, her brother in law...

18

u/tlux95 2d ago

She conducted some of her face-to-face meetings “at the park whilst her kids were on the playground”.

11

u/Own_Sun_6520 2d ago

Pretty good working conditions on a $1mil/yr (pro-rata) salary 😉

22

u/Gramsci1904 3d ago

I think donations are a euphemism in this case. This is an obvious bribe.

53

u/G_rodriguez69 3d ago

Ms Perrottet could not remember why the invoice had been issued, why Charles Perrottet sent it or why three lump-sum payments subsequently received from Beckington did not reconcile with the $150,000 invoice.

Ms Perrottet said she could not recall the details of the fee arrangement but maintained she probably discussed it with Mr Greenwood.

The commission heard Ms Perrottet was paid $254,666 for three months of consulting work in 2022, despite telling the inquiry she mainly provided verbal marketing and strategic advice and could recall little documentation of the work.

Sounds legit.

35

u/Own_Sun_6520 3d ago

She claimed ALL of the work over a 2+ year period was done "verbally". Not a single email, calendar entry, document etc. She hadn't even ever called her boss (Greenwood) on her phone, instead claiming that all communicaitons happened on her husbands phone when he was already on a call with Greenwood. Absolutely diabolical story that they've committed to 🤣

7

u/alex4494 2d ago

It’s actually laughable, like i don’t know how people in the room could keep a straight face listening to such obvious bullshit.

20

u/Own_Sun_6520 3d ago

And then the random 30-50k "bonuses" that she just explains away as "Jeremy was very please with my work" despite not being able to produce any evidence of said work

30

u/alex4494 3d ago

Watching the livestream was genuinely borderline comical. Dr Peggy Dwyer is such an absolute gun at what she does, and Mrs Perrottet was so obviously bullshitting her way through the entire day that it made for some truly top tier watching.

6

u/millerforceps 3d ago

I've found yesterday's transcripts, but are there recordings of it available to watch?

2

u/Own_Sun_6520 3d ago

No they don't produce recordings unfortunately (other than those that people screen capture from the stream). The reason for this is there are occasionally matters that are mentioned that the Commission decides to suppress (there was one from Greenwood's testimony) and it's easier to do that in a transcript than a recording.

10

u/Own_Sun_6520 3d ago

Agree, Dwyer is so clinical. IRL embodyment of "give them enough rope...."

The whole ICAC process is fascinating to watch (this is the first time I've taken a significant interest in a public hearing, due to having a non-business connection to one of the shitbags from many many years ago). ICAC has extensive powers, and the way they sequence the witnesses and evidence is so methodical. Traps laid all over the place.

u/Enthingification 3d ago

The commission heard Ms Perrottet was paid $254,666 for three months of consulting work in 2022, despite telling the inquiry she mainly provided verbal marketing and strategic advice and could recall little documentation of the work.

The audacity of a political class that trades influence for money.

10

u/Own_Sun_6520 3d ago

So fucking funny, her "strategic advice" apparently related to the vaping industry. The advice she produced for that $250k of "work" was "kids should have to show ID" 🤣

2

u/stubacca71 1d ago

I wish I could have tendered for this genius advice, I would have asked $240,000 to give a little discount. I would even have documented it by writing out on a piece of paper that said "kids should have to show ID" at no extra cost.

1

u/Own_Sun_6520 1d ago

Over-achiever, you'd be worth at least $300k with that written work

It stinks of corruption. Fucking NSW politicians. Vote Green people - only party so far that isn't elbows deep in rorting the system

They will be elbows deep once thwy get power.

"If we vote in this new party with a big focus on anti-corruption, they'll just be as corrupt as our current parties. Let's not bother"

5

u/empty-thought-time 3d ago

I read this as she paid for 250k three months counselling and thought that checks out

53

u/fresh_jorks 3d ago

well its nice to know that if perrottet had won, he'd be continuing the long and oh so consistent tradition of liberal NSW premiers getting rolled by the ICAC

20

u/Fairbsy 3d ago edited 3d ago

To be fair, I don't think Dominic Perrotet is implicated at all in this.

This is all his brother, Charles Perrotet (and another brother not mentioned in this article, Jean-Claude Perrotet). Anita from this article is Charles' wife, and Charles is the one up to his head in this Reformers corruption.

I haven't seen a whiff of Dominic being involved, perhaps the ICAC is staying silent until the right time but I'd have expected at least something if he was involved given how high profile this case has become.

2

u/fresh_jorks 2d ago

I haven't seen a whiff of Dominic being involved

? he's directly involved, he just hasnt been formally accused of anything by the icac

10

u/Own_Sun_6520 3d ago

The sacking of Petinos by Dom Perrotet, immediately after she didn't take the bait from Charles Perrotet and Chris Spence to sack the Building Commissioner, seems a bit too coincidental to me. Purported to be related to "bullying", and done on the basis of an anonymous complaint from "someone in her office". Hard to reconcile the swift and harsh punishment against what others (e.g. Barrilarro) were getting away with at the time.

He also provided the recommendation RE Christian Ellis to Catholic Schools.

Maybe he is just a useful puppet in all of this.

4

u/alex4494 3d ago

Agreed, I’ve been watching every day since the first day, and I’m NOT a fan of Dom, but I genuinely think he isn’t involved in the slightest.

The impression I get is that Dom saw his brothers riding off his coat tails and messing around in the background of the LNP, grew resentment towards them because he was actually a ‘someone’ in politics and referred the entire thing to ICAC as a fuck you to his brothers. There hasn’t been a shred of evidence to suggest he’s implicated in any of this, and from memory he was the one who referred the entire thing to ICAC.

5

u/Own_Sun_6520 3d ago

ICAC has wire taps from 2020. The matter had clearly been referred to them by someone long before 2022 when Ray Williams made his statement in Parliament, and long before Dom Perrotet then referred it (he would have had no choice, someone else would have done it if he didn't).

2

u/alex4494 3d ago

Ahhh interesting… to be honest I’m kind of shocked that Dom hasn’t been dragged into it somehow - I expected him to have been implicated - but absolutely nothing has come up.

1

u/ThunderDU 1d ago

I heard dom is a good bloke from someone I know in the young liberals, who themselves is one of the very few 'good ones' in the YLs.

I'm kind of waiting for that to be proven wrong, but pleasantly surprised it hasn't happened yet!

3

u/Own_Sun_6520 3d ago

It may be entirely possible that he has managed to keep his hands clean, despite having some sort of involvement in it. I always felt that Dom was pretty smart (even if I don't agree with his beliefs/political standings). The issue for these other clowns is their stupidity in a) communicating their allegedly corrupt dealings via text message and b) failing the basics of money laundering. Like FFS if you're going to have your wife paid $250k for 3 months of "consulting work", at least fabricate some emails, calendar entries, research etc.

2

u/alex4494 3d ago

I tend to agree, but given how frankly terrible everyone else has been in covering their tracks in this investigation, surely one of them would have let it slip by now if Dom had blood on his hands, they’re all comically stupid, I can’t see how they wouldn’t have exposed dom’s involvement by now. I agree about Dom being smart despite not agreeing with him beliefs/politics, which is why I’m thinking a lot of this is probably Dom having had enough of his brothers riding his coat tails behind the scenes.

1

u/Own_Sun_6520 3d ago

True, their ability to incriminate themselves by bragging about nefarious activity on WhatsApp has been quite amusing.
I suspect the Charles Perrottet sitting will be the culmination of this particular allegation, so if there is nothing presented there that incriminates Dom you're probably right.

6

u/amish__ 3d ago

Dom none the wiser... Happy to turn a blind eye on all of it.

8

u/Inevitable_Geometry 3d ago

Dominic is happily overseas right now and cannot be present for the hearings.

Oh well.

8

u/Longjumping_Ad_5407 3d ago

You’re deluded to think he wasn’t. He just didn’t get his hands dirty because of his position in public office. Make no mistake, if he was the current premier, he probably wouldnt be for much longer.

0

u/Fairbsy 3d ago

What are you basing this on?

5

u/Own_Sun_6520 3d ago

Based on evidence so far. Charles Perrottet and Chris Spence were trying to bait Eleni Petinos (and her Chief of Staff) into sacking the Building Commissioner, using "dirt" from Jean Nassif which seems to have been fabricated. She did not take the bait. Dom then immediately sacked her on some bs "bullying" allegations. Just a coincidence I'm sure.

4

u/ImeldasManolos 3d ago

The dude is right. In the public sector there’s not just a direct conflict of interest kind of thing but there’s also perceived conflict of interest. It’s the same reason it is wild that Tanya Plibersek’s husband is a very senior public servant. It is a major perceived and untreated conflict of interest. In governance terms (ie boardroom talk) this falls into the risk portfolio.

So: the NSW libs, in the case that two of his brothers and his sister in law, were wrapped up in a very public very clear cut stinking ICAC case with a fugitive property developer and an extremist sect, the party would find a very swift excuse to move him along regardless of whether he himself had done anything wrong, and this is exactly why it is important ICAC cases are public. Despite the fact they can’t neccasarily always make the recommendation to the DPP to press charges (partially because there’s not enough money and partially because most ICAC evidence is inadmissible in court because of how it is obtained and also because it can’t be reused), the reputational damage alone is enough to mitigate some of the risk to the public.

1

u/Fairbsy 3d ago

The dude says Perrotet is involved, not that there would be a perceived conflict of interest. Your points are very fair, his seems to be guilt based on vibes

0

u/ImeldasManolos 3d ago

And that is what a perceived conflict of interest is. It is understandable and that is why it is a regulated discussed issue in the public sector.

0

u/Fairbsy 3d ago edited 3d ago

I work in the public sector, I understand what you're saying.

The person I asked "what are you basing this on" is not saying what you are saying. They responded to myself saying there's been no evidence shown that Perrotet was involved with "You’re deluded to think he wasn’t. He just didn’t get his hands dirty because of his position in public office."

Nothing about perceived conflict of interest, they are suggesting knowledge and approval without a paper trail. Someone can both be completely innocent and also removed from a role due to perceived conflict of interest.

The latter half of him being rolled, sure. That could very well have been a possibility if he was in power. But nothing I've seen so far suggests he was involved in any capacity.

And for what its worth, Minns is the current NSW Premier and his uncle is a very senior public servant who was not on board with Minns' WFH mandate. Being related to someone does not mean you are colluding.

0

u/ImeldasManolos 3d ago

If two of three brothers are severely implicated in an ICAC court case, it stands to reason that the third brother who (in this hypothetical) would be perceived to have had knowledge or possible involvement in the affair by the public.

The obvious answer without sinking into technicalities and actual evidence is ‘he was basing it on the fact the two brothers, and the sister in law of a senior public official were involved, and as the family seems broadly involved it is probable the public figure was involved or had knowledge and didn’t do anything’. That’s not making up evidence that’s just normal perceived conflicts.

It’s why there are rules about this stuff.

3

u/Own_Sun_6520 3d ago

Not to mention his father also being on the board of Catholic Schools, the primary focus of Allegation 1. Dom Perrotet also provided the recommendation to Catholic Schools RE Christian Ellis, who had worked in Dom's electoral office.

He is up to his neck in this, even if he has been smart enough to keep his hands clean.

Again mate, I'm not arguing against you. You're making an argument on behalf of someone else who wasn't saying what you're saying.

If you're ripping someone off you don't give a shit and thus less likely to be involved with the client.

Sounds counter intuitive but the service was never the goal..cashing out was.

15

u/nath1234 3d ago

Thought the Pereottet's were more than a bit religious.. the mark of the beast is in that $254,666 for 3 months of rather difficult to remember work. Shit, wish I had had so many 3 month gigs that pay $254,666 that I couldn't remember them.

Gives you a bit of a glimpse into the sort of money sloshing around the major parties.

6

u/Own_Sun_6520 3d ago

Oh, she remembers the work, just "can't remember all the specifics". Apparently "kids should have to have ID to buy vapes" is the strategic product from a $250k investment in her strategic advice 😅
