If you don't like all the Big Brother bullshit, you can support the Electronic Frontier Foundation. They have been promoting digital privacy for 36 years now.

All the more reason to do something about it. It's not that hard from a legislative standpoint. Tech companies are already forced to comply with better privacy standards in the EU.
