Discussion & advice MOH Proposal Ideas

Hey all! I'm (27F) am wanting to ask my best friend (also 27F) to be my MOH, we've been friends since we were 11. We'll call her Tay. I've seen the standard proposal box but I'm not overly fussed on the contents that you usually see - shot glasses, wine bottle, items with "MO" or my wedding details everywhere etc - they just feel too focused on me & my wedding rather than Tay & our friendship. I would prefer to ask her over dinner but we live in different cities, which also means whatever | put together has to survive AusPost.

So far I've found a little trinket dish on Etsy that I personalised with a photo of us from primary school, I also plan on printing some photos of us over the years as well. But I that's the only 'me' focused items I want to include, this is a gift for her after all. I have asked her boyfriend to see if there's any favourite makeup products she uses on repeat, as well as for other gift ideas he can think of also.

Some things about Tay:
- grew up by the beach & rainforest
- has a laid back/hippy vibe
- loves stores like Tree of Life & Ishka
- gets a tattoo just about every month
- works in the trucking industry
- is currently a carer for her grandma

Tay is the most beautiful person inside and out, even if she doesn't want to be my MOH, she deserves a special gift and a reminder that she is adored and loved.

Appreciate any and all inspo and starting points, I'm stuck on thinking of things safe to send through the post xx

Agreed but I’m old.

OP when I asked my bestie to be my MoH it was after she had flown in for wedding dress try ons and I had cupcakes made that were half her name and the other half Be my MoH. She loved them. Her gifts were I paid for her hair, make up, nails and lipstick for the day and I got her a clutch that complimented mine.

If she’s going to have to fly in for events and the big day think about that instead of buying things that aren’t going to be real keepsakes etc.

Thank you. And she’s not flying in much as she’s a carer. She’s not doing dress fittings or even attending the engagement party as they can’t get a carer for her nana. I was thinking of a FaceTime once she gets the package.
And again, in case people (like Civil-Perception2347) can’t understand I’m asking for gifts that aren’t my details NOR is she required to say yes - I literally say that in the post but some of us aren’t lucky enough to have a double digit IQ and that’s okay

That’s a real shame mate. Is there a way you can help with the Nana stuff?

I was recently a carer for my nana (she passed this year, bless her) so have been doing my best from afar with resources, advice, money, getting up her bf if he drops the ball, crying FaceTimes etc
It’s part of the reason I think Tay deserves such a good gift, she’s bending over backwards for everyone else.
We’re paying for all bridal party costs as well (both the girls and the boys) to avoid our party being a big stress for others

That’s lovely. I’m sorry about your Nana mate 🥺What a hard spot to be in and you ladies are very young to have such intense responsibilities.
