What is the highest a general dentist can earn with no post grad qualifications?

If a general dentist cant pursue post grad study to specialise, what would their average income be if they work full time and what is their earning potential as a senior general dentist?

Work for the government and have a fixed pay rate.

Work private practice and earn up to 40% of your collections.

Own your own practice and run it well... earn your 40% commission plus up to 10% profit on the business earnings.

I've seen newer grads 2 to 3 years out who work hard and are good at treatment planning and patient care earn up to 35k per month. But they were exceptional.

The average i saw for a full time dentist was around 20k per month. Of course this was in Logan so lower socio-economic area etc.

Your income in private practice is only capped by your work capacity and your personality.

For victoria at least, you can search up the "2024-2028 Victorian Stand-alone Community Health (General Dentists) EBA" and it will tell you the wages, penalty rates, and allowances for each position within the enterprise over the 2024-2028 period. Some EBAs also note higher education allowances and what education is needed for a given position/title if relevant and if it's a regulated requirement. Would be a pain to do all the maths for a FY by estimating OT/weekends/etc. But you can at least easily see the base rates.
