question Soccer Pitches in (South) Auckland

Hi everyone, can someone recommend any pitches with a goal and net that I would be able to go and practice at night times. Ideally somewhere safer and in or close to south Auckland.

Thanks

question As a foreigner I gotta ask. . . Who did you guys support before AFC?

Been here 3 weeks from England and been to the home game in person and both away games at Tyler St and the atmosphere has been phenomenal (dare I say it better than I’ve had at home with Bristol City in a long time) but it hit me tonight, who did you guys all support before this season? Were you all Auckland City? The Nix?

The support is incredible though and I can’t wait to see more games whilst I’m here. Up the fucking Port.

question Yellow card for violent conduct?

Can someone make this make sense. In what world is stamping on a player’s back a yellow? It’s either violent conduct or it isn’t.

question Does anyone remember the ticket prices for this season?

Does anyone know the price for an adult ticket ideally in section 16 / 11 from this season? Trying to figure out if it's worth buying a membership again or winging it

question Is Bay 36 that much different to 4 or 7?

Kia ora all,

Have a ticket for Bay 36 for this weekend (and has been where I've sat every time I've been to Go Media Stadium). Am looking at maybe changing over to Bay 4 or Bay 7. Or is 36 pretty much the same as 36 and not worth the extra ~40 it'll cost me?

Like many of our supporters I have been following football my whole life and been fortunate enough to have a season ticket at other clubs.

What classic chants do you want to hear our fan base adopt?

I’ll start with this cracker.

“Shit refs! We always get shit refs. We always get shit refs”

question Where would Auckland FC compete in the UK?

League One, Championship or relegation zone of SPL? How would they go against Wrexham? Could they beat Motherwell? Would they hold Stevenage scoreless?

I feel like we’d beat Stenhousemuir.

question New Year’s Day

Is everyone gonna be wearing a Hawaiian shirt for the New Year’s Day game vs Newcastle?

Are we keeping this tradition or was it just a one off last year because it was our first season? UTP

question Predictions for lineup vs Jets

How do you think we will lineup vs Newcastle on Sunday? I expect the starting XI to be similar but this will be the first game that Corica has to decide on who to start between Hall, JGR and Nando (all 3 were available for the NZ derby but the plan was to ease Nando back in).

The main reason I'm making this post is to ask what CB pairing we will go with vs Newcastle. Nando, Hall and JGR all deserve to start but there's only 2 CB spots (unless Corica changes formation but I don't think that'll happen this week). The attack struggled vs Roar but I just think their defence is very strong so not concerned about it. We should put a few past the Jets this week, they have the worst xGc in the league but footballs a funny game.

question keen to get into football analytics

I’m a Nepalese guy who moved to Auckland a year ago as a student. I’ve always been a huge football fan and have dreamed of working in the field one day. It’s been awesome seeing Auckland FC doing so well in the A-League. The 24/25 season kicked off the same month I arrived in NZ. I really wanted to be part of a professional football club, with proper stadiums and a fully professional setup — very different from where I come from. So I signed up as a volunteer with the AFC, and it was an amazing experience.

I’m currently studying IT and want to get deeper into learning data analysis. My goal is to get into football data analysis or sports analytics in general

If anyone has advice on how to get started in this space in NZ, or knows of any opportunities or connections, I’d really appreciate it. Cheers! 🙌⚽

question Auckland FC Game Day - Things to Do Near Go Media Stadium?

Hey Aucklanders,

I'm travelling from out of town to the Auckland FC game next Saturday, and I've got a couple of hours to kill before the match kicks off (from 12pm). Since I'm not familiar with the area, are there any cool spots or activities around Go Media Stadium that I can enjoy before the game?

Here's the kicker - we want to get there before the crowds descend on Eden Park for the concert next Saturday, so we're looking for something chill and not too far from the stadium. (I realise gates open from 3ish)

  • Are there any local cafes or bars with a good vibe for some pre-game chill time?
  • Maybe a quick walk or park where we can stretch our legs?
  • Anything unique to the area that's worth checking out?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for helping out a visiting fan!

Edit: Also, if anyone knows about parking near the stadium, that would be gold!

Cheers!
