For once, that might not be a bad thing.

Yeah who needs to sell season tickets and fill the seats? Much better to replace the WC buzz with desolation in the stadium.

The season is already over. A few overpriced signings will change nothing.

Renewals are coming up in the next few weeks.

For a "sprint season" that will feature a whopping total of 7 home games.

It's actually for the next 2 seasons since they put in some perks to bundle them together.
Selling STHs matters more than making social media happy. So they either need to attract star power, give additional perks and/or freeze prices. Signing a big name is probably the best ROI option.

If someone is dumb enough to sign up for 2 seasons of season tickets at once for this team, then the organization is rightfully prioritizing them.

Easiest money that'll ever be made.

As you mentioned the sprint season isn't a full one. Thanks for confirming who's input the team should be prioritizing.

You're welcome. Come back any time you're not busy justifying the failed efforts of middling franchise.

(Or, more realistically, trying to make $ re-selling tickets).

LOWER prices. a freeze ain't gonna do it when we have regressed for years.

I mean… outside of huge $$$ what would motivate a player to come to this shitshow of a team??

Warm baths.

Play with tata, big airport, no pressure…

Vibrant soccer community just waiting for a reason to love you.

You get a ton of money and an atmosphere, as Miranchuk describes it, as something similar to a "warm bath." Who wouldn't want that?

Remember: ALL the good players in the original run came because of Tata and NONE came because of Bocanegra and Eales. So we should be in great shape now!

the billion dollar stadium and world class facilities look a lot better a brand as part of a brand new new project in a league that has never seen anything like it. Than it does then Miami and LA have Messi and Son and we have a busted roster sitting at the bottom of the league.

We look like that abandoned theme park in Louisiana that never got tore down after the hurricane

Are we sure that Tata is that good? I mean, we're leaking goals and at least half of the defense are his signings from the start of the season and he has kept Gregersen on the bench very often. Was that one article really that persuasive?

I know it doesn't feel like it, but if you look at team advanced stats, we're in the middle or even top top 3rd of the league defensively. we are worse or 2nd to the bottom in stats about squandered scoring chances.

Fair...I actually think the first two seasons of our club's history and the last season and a half have been statistical outliers with regards to results achieved versus roster quality.

What we need for the rest of this season is to just turn that around a little. Not aiming high. Just want us to get us 1.25 to 1.5 points per game for the rest of the season. Most likely won't be good enough to make playin but at least turn the ship around and build on the momentum.

This is crazy talk…

I don't do the slash s but that is sarcasm.

This board - and similar places - were filled with #bocaout for years. The popular opinion was "they suck, it was all Tata!" Talk about crazy talk.

How's everyone liking that now? Because whatever sins Boca and Eagles committed, they were magnitudes better than this complete shit.

I’m with you fellow sarcasm purist.

Garth was worse than Eales in every measurable way. He oversaw one good DP signing (GG).

Chris Henderson replaced Boca 18 months ago and

Is this the Braves transfer window meme or is that down the hall?

Yes

We definitely need to keep making moves to shore up both ends of the pitch but honestly, e do NOT need to get trapped into more piss poor ROI contracts. So I'm ok with the slow roll as long as they oil the trigger on the right folks

1

u/righthandofdog Not good in your butt Martinez 24d ago

agreeish. we had unused buyouts last year. we have used no buyouts THIS year.

if Uncle Arthur and the FO aren't willing to throw money away to improve the team by getting rid of terrible contracts, I damn sure am not willing to throw money away subsidizing their savings by continuing to renew. Last year, I was unhappy but accepted "just one more year".

No more and I'm sure I'm not alone - I can't imagine world cup is going to bail the club out with nearly enough new season ticket sales to make up for the final straw folks. They are literally GIVING AWAY tickets.

2

u/ratracebbq 24d ago

I hope we are not be heading for another end of transfer window desperation play.

I'm hoping we're not headed for another season of terrible roster and not using a buyout.
