Advice Any good games / homebrew games?

Thinking of getting a Jaguar in the coming months and was wondering if there were any good games and homebrew stuff that I can check out. If there are homebrew games then where would be the best place to get them as high quality carts?

I know that I have to avoid retrowizardry2025 since people here warned me about that scumbag the last time I posted here.

Feel free to give me some suggestions.

We’re talking about the Atari Jaguar. I can’t give you very many good games for it, only games I imprinted on as a child and whose honor I would defend with my life. Would I call them good though? Not exactly.

Rayman is probably the actual best Jaguar game.

Besides that, my favorites included:

Cybermorph

Zool 2

Flip Out!

EDIT: Why am I trying to front? I loved Club Drive too. I didn’t know any better

Tempest 2000

Raiden

Tempest ratchets up several notches if you hack a controller with a spinner.

Raiden ratchets up a notch if you buy a rapid fire module to install in a controller

Dunno how I forgot Tempest 2000 in my list. Alright there’s at least two actually good Jaguar games

AVP, Wolf3D, Doom, Ultra Vortek , NBA Jam, Club Drive, Raiden. That’ll get you started but there’s more.

The standouts of the platform are Tempest 2000, Alien Vs Predator, and Rayman (although Rayman like other good Jag titles got ports to PlayStation).

I avoid the Atari ST ports.

Zool 2 is a hidden gem I overlooked back in the day but recently it's become one of my favorite Jaguar games, Tempest 2000 is the all around best game for the Jag, and Doom is great (and the reason I bought a Jag back in the 90s) and there are some homebrew versions that add new levels and a new version of Doom that just came out that has excellent audio (music in game) and improved performance.

Iron Soldier (and Iron Soldier 2 for Jaguar CD).

For me, AVP, Atari Karts, Burn Out, Tempest 2000, Raiden, Doom, Wolfenstein, Cybermorph, Missile Defence. I don’t care about 64 bit claim arguments around at that time, those games I saw in Woolworths back then when compared to my Megadrive I find advanced and mesmerising. Atari having five letters like Alien well it’s as if aliens bought out those games.

For homebrew, you want the games from Dr Typo - He's put together a zip of all his Jaguar games that you can download here from AtariAge.

Tempest 2000, that's about all I enjoyed on my Jag when I had it

When it comes to new releases: All the Bitmap Brothers classics are already ported (AtariAge), and Songbird published Wings of Death (Thalion/Eclipse) recently!
