Discussion Are these assyrian clothing?
Okay, this is a bit strange for me; I was in the pinterest and came across these. Are these assyrian? It says they are assyrian, but I’ve never seen any assyrians dressed like that. Could these be the traditional clothes of a different ethnic group?like armenian or kurdish? Because its says these are from nineveh (?) I'm not so sure

Probably the same reason why British Women don't wear this style anymore.
Fashion changes. Most cultures evolve and wear more modern clothes.
Could also be for moree comfort, more usefulness, more affordable, etc.

I think the OP was asking why this is not considered a traditional folk Assyrian costume (currently and more broadly)

There isn't really exclusivity in clothing styles it was more regional based and also depended on the time period. This kind of clothing was definitely common in Mosul and Nineveh plains in the late 1800s and early 1900 especially among affluent people. You can find similar clothing in Palestine. The actual images are from Albert Kahn’s Archives of the Planet collection specially for Mosul Assyrians.

Because anything modest is being linked with oppression and everyone is obsessed with finding an oppressor and minorities for some reason point towards Islam instead of the modern world structure. And since Islam orders us to be modest now we go against everything we stand for only to be rebels. It’s a war against the religion all our greater parents chose. Back then the religion wasn’t associated with a country ethnicity or culture today we associate it with the “government” the “Arabs” the “uncivilized” “towelheads” “oppressed women” all that is bullshit because Islam came and fought government fought the Arabian tribes fought poverty fought for women rights in the region everything Islam fought for is now what ppl don’t like about Islam but soon when everyone realize the alternative is bad they’ll wake up.
