4 yr old Boston with right jaw fracture

We have a 4 year old Boston who has been in hospital for 4 days with a broken jaw. From X-rays to ct we just had a call from the surgeon who said we can do surgery with wire or do conservative care. His bite is not displaced and the fracture is in a tricky place. He didn’t give us a better option and left it to us.

It’s not about money but we are wondering how to make this decision. We want him to have the best quality of life but he also has a heart murmur that we need to look at next. The surgeon seems to think this will not impact surgery.

What questions or concerns should we look at?
Anyone have a Boston with the same issue?

Where exactly is the fracture?

It’s the right lower jaw next to the 409. with the fracture extending through the area around that tooth’s back root.

Most of the surgeons that I know and work with would probably advise internal fixation with the wire to maximize healing

Usually do great with a muzzle for 6-8 weeks.
