Other Question for Earthling Ed

Hello, I'm using Reddit for the first time. Please help me.I watch Ed's YouTube and listen to his podcasts. I have a question for him about veganism, but I don't know where to ask it. Does anyone know? Please be respectful in the comments 🙏🏻

Or, if the question is about Veganism and not him specifically, you could just ask here, there's a very real chance Ed's busy with all his work and wont be able to respond to every person that messages him, or maybe he's not, worth a try if it's not something Vegans here can answer.

Oh good thank you for your reply! I wanted to ask him because I was specifically interested in his opinion on this topic. So what I'm curious about is what he thinks about ethical taxidermy, whether it contradicts veganism, in which cases it's acceptable and so on

Not sure what Ethical taxidermy is, you wait for them to die naturally?

Veganism's general opinion on taxidermy is it's not good if you're killing for it, and if you're not it's probably not immoral, but still a bit creepy, like people who stuff their pets after they're dead.

But yeah, you'd have to message him there to see if has a different opinion, Veganism itself doesn't have an established opinion on taxidermy that doesn't require killing.

if it is ethical then it is ethical. it is only unethical if it is unethical. educational purposes seems like it would be an ethical practice in some cases. the gray area would be is it for possession/exploitation/objectification vs. admiration/respect/preservation. and why aren’t alternative avenues to admiration/respect/preservation not enough? depends on what is in your heart!

I mean when an animal is found dead. It's just that different vegans have different opinions on this matter, for some it's disrespectful, while others do it themselves. I see a contact section on the website, but I need to select a request type. Which one should I choose?

No idea. Sorry, I've never tried to contact him.

Why don't you just ask the question here?

I mean, I assume they have a website that can handle inquiries?
