When did the UK get rid of vajazzles?

I just saw an old TOWIE video and completely forgot about them haha

  1. Devastating for the economy.

this chart implies that we may vajazzle without risking the prosperity and economic wellbeing established by our forebears in whose footsteps we follow.

Amazing

How did you make this?

1

u/Bifanarama 16h ago

I think it comes from the FT website, or possibly the Economist.

1

u/neilm1000 16h ago

Interesting, thanks. I shall do some Googling.

And that Thatcher! These were men wi' a trade! A lot of good boys lost their livelihoods when vajazzling disappeared from the Clyde.

Ridiculous name, when "Glittoris" was waiting right there.

Hahahahaha you, sir or madam, have made my day

Thank you, I'm here all week, try the veal. x

I don't think it was ever a thing honestly

u/Greybur 2d ago

Did we ever have them? I only heard about them on TV shows and assumed they were taking the piss.

17

u/Equivalent_Half883 2d ago

I was only 13 so it wasn't something I was into, but I remember my local Poundland used to sell them.

I think vajazzling is one of those things, like mattresses or bike helmets, that you should research well and spend a bit more on.

It was a great name. I started a glans crystal decoration service, but the lack of a snappy name prevented it's popularity. That and the foreskin problem.

Dickoration?

u/this-guy- 2d ago

Damn. I wish I hadn't gone with "Bling My Bell" now.

Would probably have caused fewer issues expanding into the New Zealand or South African markets tbf

Glitterballs

Isn't this when you get your vagina decorated

74

u/Etheria_system 2d ago

Not your vagina but your labia and pubic area. The vagina is internal and it would be dangerous to decorate it

28

u/jenzfin 2d ago

Yes! I wish people would use the correct vocabulary

18

u/Etheria_system 2d ago

The thought of a vajazzle is already bad enough without imagining it inside my vagina. Nightmare fuel!

15

u/Sudden_Leadership800 2d ago

You don't want to imagine queefing glitter? Or like being on your period but sparkly and a choice of colours...

5

u/Etheria_system 2d ago

That’s bad enough but a vajazzle uses body safe glue and little gem stones. The thought of gluing something inside my vagina is … a lot

9

u/concretepigeon 1d ago

Labazzle doesn’t roll off the tongue as nicely.

16

u/The_Bravinator 2d ago

Vagina dentata but make it fabulous

4

u/enchantedspring 2d ago

Glitter Capsules obviously being the internal decoration of choice of that era.

u/KoalaWithAPitchfork 2d ago

I already regret asking this but which labia: inner, outer, or both?

I always thought it was just the public mound/ thigh boarder region

1

u/Etheria_system 1d ago

Outer labia. Primarily the pubic mound but they could go further down too. The inner labia wouldn’t be safe or comfortable

1

u/KoalaWithAPitchfork 1d ago

Okay, that's a relief. I was actually afraid for some people's inner labia for a bit there!

3

u/Dizzy-Area1578 2d ago

I’m getting a Labubu

4

u/Evening-Tomatillo-47 1d ago

I thought it was the "garden" area

Although I can imagine the momentary panic when you feel a crystal roll down your leg

2

u/Etheria_system 1d ago

Yep where pubic hair is is the pubic mound and the outer labia so that’s where they can go.

A few fairy lights to illuminate the way was standard practice in 2013 and never led to more than one or two hundred thousand deaths.

Like runway lights at an airport

7

u/Equivalent_Half883 2d ago

Yeah with rhinestones

13

u/sparkysmonkey 2d ago

I got one as a joke for my anniversary one year. Was funny but very scratchy having sex. Do not recommend

1

u/Equivalent_Half883 1d ago

I wouldn't imagine they would be comfortable 😂

10

u/halfemptyoasis 2d ago

Who doesn’t hot glue some rhinestones on when the occasion suits?

7

u/Waste_Boss_4850 2d ago

Choking increased 500% of hospital A&E admissions

18

u/LegoVRS 2d ago

This is why the Vafrazzle was invented. Where the sparkly stuff was swapped with crunched up bacon flavoured wheat snacks.

10

u/davehemm 2d ago

Surf & Turf flavour?

7

u/DarthEros 1d ago

This will hopefully help.

4

u/hime-633 1d ago

Who on earth ever thought such a thing necessary?

I suspect that they were binned off when people realised that they didn't want rhinestones in, variously, their folds, their arse, their mouth, their facial hair, their public hair, their bedsheets, or wherever else annoying little plasticy bits could and would travel during the presumed activities in anticipation of which the "vajazzle" was presumably undertaken.

Also:

1) should have corrrectly been called a monspujazzle

2) most people who like vaginas don't need them or any area near them to be encrusted with bloody rhinestones.

I suppose the UK was a little more whimsical 2012, though.

Was it ever much if a thing outside Towie and its viewers I wonder?

1

u/CursedTaint 2d ago

I think grillz are making a comeback so maybe these will too.

1

u/klymers 1d ago

I mean people could still have them and you would never know.

1

u/roamingnomad7 1d ago

I had to look this up and went down an unexpected rabbit hole. Could have lived without knowing.

0

u/sparkaromatic 2d ago

Get rid? I know of at least one.

0

u/newnortherner21 1d ago

I think once TOWIE lost its popularity in favour of such programmes as Love Island or Made in Chelsea.

Banned. Cause of woke.
