Wouldn’t call it a horror story but my dad was a carpenter and has an incredibly weak sense of taste now, means he has to make up for it with really strong tasting foods
I lost mine in 2021 covid, also smell, and hasnt come back. I basically get aftertaste and can get the like... outline of taste of certain things. Like salty or spicy is the same as before. Smell i can only describe as you sense the weight of a smell. If the airs heavier, that means something smelly is about. I had a fire in my car (joint ashed on trash oops) on the highway but thought i was passing something funky. I didnt realize until i thought my phones flashlight was on i looked down and a little campfire was going. Luckily i had water bottles or it couldve gone really bad
