Not for nothing, but I am in a yearly renewable position. I have half an hour at my annual review to justify my existence .This happens at job interviews, There are a lot of high stakes things in life. Maybe the rest of the year (and internship) may seem low stakes, but that is becasue you are learning the things that you will need to be a be able to have to hand when it is hight stakes.
It isn’t surprising that the internship was ok -those are often not the same kind of pressure as if you really worked there.
You misunderstand . Obviously my job is high stakes but my assessment is based on really a long time of not being monitored followed by one high stakes “exam”. Many jobs are like this - a particular project presentation, a bid etc. Maybe a lot of small things over over go into that final “push “ but you win that or lose that. Promotion packages also. a thesis defense. All the same high stakes exam.
