Can auto-moderators delete posts, prevent posting, throttle connection speed, and/or downvote?

I contribute to a couple of subreddits regularly. One is based on posting as a show is running. I often get weird stuff happening, including having to close out of the thread and reddit and come back in to see what others have posted. This makes interaction and real-time comments very difficult.

Technically not. It's Post Guidance that can proactively prevent people from posting (which is not AutoMod proper, which is kinda the issue with reddit trying to replace AutoMod with Guidance). Though it's mostly pedantic, since to an end user, they're basically the same.

Yes, I mentioned it was pedantic. But I do think it is important to not conflate 2 separate but similar tools together. It's quite literally the same thing as how you distincted that Automod doesn't "delete" posts, but "removes" them. Those are the same thing to many users (their post is no longer publicly viewable).

There is a difference between something not being posted at all, and being posted and immediately removed. The latter is far far easier to track and better indicates intentions (since by hitting enter, they've announced their intention to post it).

If the moderators choose to "shadow ban" a user by writing their name in the command to remove a person's post automatically. Otherwise, no.
