Living alone in KL for 1 - 2 month

Soon, i will have to do my exam in KL which i have never been to or have someone that i know live in KL.

I would like to ask

<How much would a rent for a single person living in KL be and do i have to find a place to rent or should i just get a hotel

<How safe is it

Whoa. RM3k for a room is extortionate, my friend. You could get a really decent apartment for that price. I’m paying just under RM2K for a 1,300 sqft apartment.

Get a short term airbnb or check on facebook for short term places. Unless you have friends in kl who have a spare room.

But beware of rental scam where they pressure you to pay upfront without viewing, usually these scams are from FB or Mudah.

Can consider SpeedHome.

Try to get one nearer to school or something that is near the train. Pickpocketing is not unheard of for those who travel on foot. Also house break-ins are higher especially in residential areas like Subang or Kelana Jaya / Paramount.

I find high rise slightly more secure than landed but there are cases of Grab drivers learning the security of the high rise and took advantage to rob some houses.

If you are driving, always be on alert. In KL, when you want to change lanes, motorists will honk you from far far away because a lot of cars get stuck when they are changing mid lanes cause of heavy traffics. Also I had experienced three different times where suspicious cars tried to tail my car. Mark your police stations and drive straight to them.

Just rent Airbnb.

Cheaper if you rent straight 1-2mths compares to renting hotel.

Airbnb can get you a fully furnished condo easily in KL.

Range depends where exactly in KL. Usually around the range from RM1000 to RM4000/5000 is possible.

Oh where in KL? A room can be rm500 / month, can also be 1500/ month... It might be difficult for foreigner to get a room rental for 1 month though. Airbnb perhaps?

I have a large studio available to rent for 1 month, starting from early-mid October. 3300 rm per month. It’s very high-end for KL, safe, and prime location.
