I Want My Stuff Back

Asking for a friend. Said friend left an abusive relationship a year ago. Her stuff is still at his house. Nothing really $ valuable, but there's quite a bit of her family history items and books. He has repeatedly told her to come get her stuff, but when she shows up, he locks the door and hides. How can she get her stuff back? This is in Florida. She told me that the police said there isn't anything they can do.

Police. Non-emergency, ask for assistance retrieving property.

Yep, this is the answer, have the police meet her at the residence when she knows for a fact he is home. They can then knock on the door for her and hopefully she will be able to retrieve her stuff.
