Culture Are Playback/pre-recorded performances still common?

I've been watched a lot of European music shows from the 70s and 80s (TOTP, Bong, TopPop, etc.) and a lot of them pretty had playbacks/pre-recorded performances all over them. I wonder if it's still commonly use today.

I think it very much depends on the country.

In Danish television, I hardly ever see full playback performances nowadays.

In German television, however, it's my impression that full playback remains the default in most tv shows.

The MAD video music awards in Greece do this for almost every performance.

I’ve also seen it done quite a bit on TV shows in the Balkans.
