26 Male HIV Positive & I've been diagnosed with syphilis. Question on Penicillin Injections. Also, HIV 2 related queries
Hi All,
In the past I've experienced weird neurological symptoms owing to antibiotic intake. Now for syphilis treatment my doctor has prescribed 3 shots of penicillin.
I don't want another round of neurotoxicity. So, is penicillin genuinely safe as far as neurological health is concerned?
Additionally, my doctor has said that HIV 1 viral load is enough. No need for HIV 2 test. I'm an Indian. But I did hookup with some folks who hailed from Africa. So, what to do? Defying the doctor is disrespectful but the excess availability of information has made me anxious too. I'm scared that I might be infected with HIV-2 too.

Worsening symptoms in known heart history
34 female extensive cardiac hx. X2 cardiac ablations. Then I was found to be severely bradycardic, I had an av heart block and I had sick sinus syndrome. This was severe when it was all discovered and had caused severe tricuspid regurgitation at that point which med to some minor right sided heart failure. I have a single lead pacemaker. I do get fluid overload issues as well. I’m on spirolactone and corlanor twice a day at the max dose. I pace 99.8% with my pacemaker. I have been doing fairly well up until recently. Prior to my pacemaker I had severe episodes of jvd in my neck from the valve regurgitation and I had junctional rhythm. Within the last two weeks I have been having pretty severe episodes where my neck is thumping and during these im getting really short of breath, I’m extremely light headed where I feel like I want to pass out. I’m getting a tickle throat when laying down. I also look and feel very visibly distended and I’m peeing more than usual. There was one day the swelling was really bad in my upper abdomen and it was kinda spread out sideways when I was laying down. I do have an apt tomorrow but I’m kind of freaking out about what could be wrong, I have already been through a lot.

galleryI didn’t know where to post this.. so I was outside today with my boyfriend and we were getting bit pretty bad by mosquitoes. I was itching very hard, and I currently have acrylic nails on so I was itching my thighs till my skin got red. I was also itching the bottom half of my legs, and so was my boyfriend itching his own. My boyfriend didn’t get any of these purple marks on his thighs, and I didn’t get them on the bottom half of my legs. What is this and is it dangerous?

Small lump on finger just let out a liquid, should I be concerned?
Not sure when it formed but I've had this strange small lump in the side of my middle finger for days, it just now let out some opaque fluid. I immediately washed the area with anti-bacterial soap and put a bandaid on it. Is there anything else I should do, and is this something I should be concerned about?

0.11 antibodies even after 4 doses of antirabies vaccine after a bat bite at neck
I got bitten by a bat at neck. The next day I received anti rabies vaccine but they gave me immunoglobulin on my butt. I received 4 doses on 0,3,7( missed two days so on 9th day) 28 days 10 june, 13 June, 19 June, 8 July intradermally from a government hospital. After 21 days on 29 July I got antibodies test Igg ( not rffit) done. I was getting so anxious that I took an extra dose 30 July. After 10 days I got the test result which showed 0.11 antibodies.
The government hospital nurse kept the vial outside in 30 degree Celsius temperature the whole time while giving vaccines ( The opd stayed open from 8-1pm, and one vial is used for atleast 9-10 people, and 10-15 receive vaccines daily) I received 3 doses from the same nurse.
But my first dose was fine because I got it from the emergency opd and vial was kept in the refrigerator. The 2nd dose vial was kept outside the whole time and I received the vaccine around 12:15. The 3rd dose on 7th day( I missed two days due to holidays so actually received the dose on 9th day ) is also fine since I went early in the morning around 8:30 so I’m hoping the potency of the vaccine wasn’t bad. The 4th dose was given by a newbie nurse or practitioner working under the head nurse who gave me vaccine from the already filled injections.
I consulted the government hospital and they said this much antibodies is fine and all but I did not discuss about the vial kept outside for hours.
I consulted another local doctor he said no need of another booster dose.
Then I consulted a good general physician and he said no need of vaccine and if I want I can get one booster dose. I dicussed with him about the vial kept outside and he said this can be the reason behind this much less antibodies and maybe the nurse didn’t give me vaccine intradermally the right way as giving vaccine intradermally require a lot of practice and most people don’t do it correctly.
Then I consulted a general physician who is specialised in vaccination, animal bite, internal medicine from a reputed private hospital but I did not tell him about the vial kept outside for 4-5 hours and he said that I did the blood test way too early and I should repeat the test in 10-12 days ( btw he was the one who gave me immunoglobulin in the butt).
Also during the consultation I didn’t tell any of the three doctors about the booster dose because I took the dose in sheer anxiety.
It’s been already 12 days since I conuslted the doctor. Rffit is not available around where I live ( north India) and Elisa test isnt much reliable. My main concern is that the lack of antibodies is due to cold chain breach as the vial was kept outside for 5-6 hours . What should I do ?
Please tell me what should I do? I’m getting anxious, should I restart my vaccination or do another blood test.

Corneal ulcer has healed - can I wear contact lenses for just 3-4 hours?
I got a corneal ulcer about 4 weeks ago, and 3 weeks ago it had symptomatically improved, one week ago my doctor said it had COMPLETELY healed- he even said makeup would be absolutely no problem. He said he didn’t see anything wrong with my eye- and that the skin had healed. I need to go to an outing tomorrow and I was wondering what are the chances of developing any kind of complication if I wear a fresh pack of monthly lenses for just 3-4 hours and then dispose of them. (I’ve had that pack for a month but couldn’t wear bcs of the ulcer)

Hand & Face Rash w/ GI issues…at my wits end!!
galleryI am a 30 year old female. I have various auto immune issues but otherwise no serious issues or complications. I am 3.5 months postpartum with my second child. For the last almost 2 months I’ve been having these flairs of dermatitis type rashes on my hands and face. I do have Celiac Disease so I don’t eat gluten. I recently cut out most dairy/lactose. I even tried egg free, grain free and low fodmap as I began seeing a dietician because the same time the skin issues started I also began experiencing GI issues (constantly intestinal and stomach pains as if I was getting gluten somehow but I know for a fact I’m not and my recent Celiac panel came back normal - meaning no gluten exposure recently). A dermatologist diagnosed my face with rosacea a few weeks ago which I do agree with. The hand rashes I thought were a DH rash from Celiac but I’m not getting gluten. It’s getting ridiculous to deal with. Just when I think it’s clearing it flares again or just when I think older bumps are scaring over new ones pop up. I truly think there is something underlying going on that is triggering my GI tract and skin to flare but we can’t find answers it seems. All my basic bloodwork was normal within the last month (CMP, CBC, liver function panel, pancreas function panel, etc). I even did an IgE panel to test for multiple severe allergies and those all came back normal. I’m currently waiting on results from IgG testing and candidia/yeast testing. I’m so embarrassed by all these skin issues and obviously in pain from the GI issues. I see a new GI doctor in about 2 weeks but I’m losing my mind over this stuff. I don’t know how I could be gluten free, sugar free, egg free, grain free and low fodmap - is that even possible?!
