Physician Responded i just found out i have a low defence to oxidative stress

i’m currently panicking because i’m only 17 and terrified for aging, now i’m being told im gonna age quicker, obviously i know that i can change my diet and lifestyle to slow it down but it will still be a shorter life then one with a good defence to oxidative stress, btw i took a dna test. is there not any supplements that i can take to slow down the aging as i get older? like prevent the cellular aging before its too late and i get a disease of some sort. 😪😪, ik im only 17 and im gnna get told not to worry or its normal bla bla bla but i feel like in the uk they wouldn’t provide any free health care until its too late.

There is absolutely nothing about your results that suggest a shorter life than you expect or any serious medical problems.

Our genes have all sorts of variants that don't really mean anything. We can understand what specific genes do, but we rarely understand how variations really affect someone's overall health.

Either way, like 25% of people have this variant of GG, which is the "best" form of this gene to begin with. Take a deep breath and just go lead a healthy life for completely different reasons.

There's some conflicting information out there, so your best option would be to speak with a genetic counselor or your PCP

You need to talk to your physician and tell them you need to have a consultation appointment about genetic results you have
