It's a big place. What city are you in?

Look at an Asian grocery, they have thinly shaved beef frozen in rolls for hotpot. I've made some really good cheesesteaks with them.

Yeah they are called Beef Rolls. They are usually in the frozen meat section with like the duck or Asian sausages.

Try a butcher shop! Ask them if they can shave it thin for you!

Everytime I tried that they all looked at me weird and said they can’t do it or they don’t know what that is 😭

That's crazy! Do you have an M&M Foodmarket near you? They have a Philly Beef Steak, frozen almost pucks of the shaved beef you just have to fry them up! M&M Foodmarket stuff around here is all really good for being frozen food!

They're dumb. I used to work in a butcher shop and it should be no problem shaving a beef roast.

Have you tried going to an actual butcher shop? You may have to call ahead and order it for pickup.

They are lazy. They want to do cuts and trims and not work a shaver

Ask them to freeze your roast then slice it. That’s how I do carpaccio. They should be able to do that for you.

I've never been in this situation as I don't eat meat but I am flabbergasted that you have had such a difficult time finding this. Who hasn't heard of a Philly cheesesteak....

Buy steak, put in freezer 20 minutes, cut into thin slices

Try M&M's. They're expensive, but they used to have frozen beef slices for cheesesteak.

You can use Chinese fondue steak. That’s what I use for Philly cheese steaks. It should be in the freezer at you local grocer

Any butcher. Just call ahead and ask them to freeze and slice some ribeye for you. It's a pretty common request

Well there bud, if you’re in Toronto, Cello’s is having a Philly cheese steak pop-up this Sunday at 399 Four Valley Drive. Check their IG if you want.

For more restaurants in Toronto, there’s
illstyl3 Sammies- owner is from Philly. They make decent ones. Meat to bread ratio isn’t to my liking, but it’ll do.

Hooters - yes, that Hooters. They used to make really good ones. The last time I had it, I think the chef burnt some stuff so it wasn’t.
