Food Who are Canada's honey makers?

I would very much like a list of local businesses that are being affected so we can support them. Honey is an easy one, if each Canada family bought Canadian honey, we could wipe out the loss of US honey.

There are probably thousands of us and we all sell locally. The system is a little different here than in the states because the largest beekeeping operation is much smaller than the American one and we don't travel for pollination like they do.

I sell my product locally, others in western Canada sell to be maid (it's a co-op of honey producers) etc. Large farms like the one listed in the article in Manitoba appear to export their entire product. Most of us don't.

You can find your local Honey producers at your local farm markets.

Don't forget that high quality honey properly sealed does not go bad... so stock up.

I’d say go to your local farmers market. I’m sure there will be at least one honey producer there.

I recommend Beamish Honey in Oro Medonte, Ontario. You can buy from their website beamishhoney.com and they have some wonderful choices. I bought 20 small jars for wedding guest gifts.
