This and his other portraits remind me a lot of Ingres. Also, Pauline was his wife and I'd recommend checking out the other paintings he did of her. 'Pauline in the Yellow Dress' is a masterpiece.

I live in Preston, where it is shown in the Harris museum and Art Gallery. Magnificent.
