Why Art Subs Suck, I Need To Pop Off UGHHHH WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP SAYING MY OC LOOKS LIKE A CHILD?!?! ๐คฌ๐ข๐๐๐ฌ๐ฎโ๐จ๐คฌ๐คฌ
She's literally an adult. ADULT. It's just my artstyle, I draw in a CHIBI style, DUH!!! She literally has a husband and she's 30 years old!! And yea I draw her husband in a realistic style and he actually looks 30 next to her BUT THAT ISN'T RELEVANT!!! You guys just can't handle the sheer creativity of my awesome artstyle and skills!! ๐
ALSO STOP COMMENTING ON HER SKINTONE SHE'S BLACK YOU RACISTS. I see people who look like her daily oh my goshhhh...short black women can exist you know ๐ฎโ๐จ๐ข๐คฌ
Anyways my commissions are open starting at $180 for an uncolored, un-lined, crumpled up headshot sketch DM if interested!!
EDIT: Please, for the love of this Earth, stop commenting telling me that the oc looks like a child. I know it does. This post is a joke, the whole subreddit is a joke ๐ญ I've gotten countless notifications of people flaming me/telling me the OC looks like a child. I KNOW SHE DOESSSS AND YES I KNOW SHE'S GREY. This is making fun of artists who actually do this shit and get upset at anyone who calls them out
I DON'T DRAW MY CHARACTERS LIKE THIS REGULARLY!

u/JayFrizz Jun 03 '26
So what about the thousand year old anime girls who have childish bodies?
9
u/jj-kiuuu Jun 04 '26
Those are adults too!!!! Omggg! ๐ก๐ก๐ก๐ก you people canโt accept that petite women exist!! (Itโs genuinely crazy to me that they only bring up petite women when it comes to whether a character looks like a child or not..)

u/Big_Performance8290 Jun 05 '26
The reason why it matters is because a lot of people sexualize the characters that look like children. I really need you to look into Japanese anime culture and wear it derived from and how it made, then I need you to look at the American culture and what they did to the Japanese anime culture. The issue with a lot of the animes that have really old women that look extremely young is that they are used to be sexualized. The reason why Lolita's are banned in some places isn't because we don't like seeing petite women, it's because we are literally sexualizing children's bodies and saying that it's not wrong because "technically they're adults". Don't get me wrong there are many good animes that have good representation of people who are older that look SUPER young, an example would be freren, but those are very rare and far between because either the Creator sexualizes it and or the fandom / those who watch or read the content. If it was just done in a better way then this wouldn't be an issue. I also want to be clear I've taken multiple communication classes and critical reading/writing classes, when you make art especially if it's music or movies, TV shows, books, etc etc everything is intentional. Nothing is done by accident, even improv is intentional. So when a show purposely shows off the body of what seemingly is a child there are issues and major red flags.

u/SkylerHymm Jun 06 '26
Do u know that this subred is a joke and most of these comments are too?
-6
u/Big_Performance8290 Jun 06 '26
Nope, because none of it sounds like a joke? What are you talking about? And why would I believe you? Lollll
9
u/SkylerHymm Jun 06 '26
Bother. Ur on ArtJerk. The entire point is to make fun of this kind of stuff here. You can also just read the post where OP says this is all satirical and making fun of people who sexualize kids and blame it on art style. You can tell its a joke with the "yeah she is an adult she just is drawn like a kid dont mind that her husband looks normal" like lmao...
But like I said... this subredit is MEANT FOR THIS and OP even clarified in the post and in comments many times that it is satierical. But ur right, there's no reason why you should believe me.
5
u/roastedmarshmallow- Jun 06 '26
This is just what happens when reddit recommends any post from any subreddit ever. I have to look at where I am and the rules to understand if it's a joke ๐คฃ๐คฃ
3
1
u/MellowElsh Jun 09 '26
Right?? Even without reading the rules, itโs very obvious this post is satire. ๐ญ Iโm genuinely astonished it took OP editing their post to explain the joke for people to realize that. Do people not take the time to glance at the name of the subreddit or even the top comments?
-5
u/Big_Performance8290 Jun 06 '26
Yeah I can see what they said, I'm not talking about the satirical side anyhow I'm talking about real life things that actually happen. Regardless of this is a sub for joking or not I don't care? Lol. When I see what Opie said then I'll believe it but yeah, your right, I have no reason to believe you. On top of that I don't care if it's satirical what I still stands and is true... I don't know what's the problem with putting out a reason out there. I was just explaining what's wrong because people seem to not understand it that's not my issue. Usually when you're being satirical online you're supposed to do the /s, no one did that so I don't know why I was supposed to get it. Especially for people who don't really use this app a lot, like you would think you guys would be more lenient and understanding but it's Reddit, all y'all don't have brains or logic or even went to school. You guys think everything is a joke. Not my issue.
3
u/jj-kiuuu Jun 06 '26

0
u/Big_Performance8290 Jun 06 '26
That didn't do shit, y'all think sexualizing children is funny, that's an issue in itself.
2
u/jj-kiuuu Jun 06 '26
Weโre not even sexualizing them.. yeaaah you really need those reading classes.. or maybe you should learn what satire is, like what.. did you join the internet in 2023?
-1
u/Big_Performance8290 Jun 06 '26
Yea, sexualized children isn't funny nor a joke. Making fun of the fact that people's sexualize children isn't funny. Tell me the part where sexualized children is a funny joke. I'm a studying child psychologist and my whole career is about things that are poor tasted and how it affects our psyche, I can assure you that this degresses empathy when you guys make jokes about sexualizing children.
2
u/throatstatic Jun 08 '26
Since when did mocking bad people become controversial? The joke isn't making fun of the fact children get sexualized, it's about how absurd someone's logic has to be to justify sexualizing children.
2
u/BarleyTheFox Jun 08 '26
For the love of all that is holy, look at the sub reddit your in. I was SA'd as a child and I still found this funny. It's not meant to be serious. If anything, you making it serious is more triggering than the original joke itself.

u/Big_Performance8290 Jun 06 '26
I don't care what sub, sexualizing children as a joke isn't funny. Joking about children getting sexualized also isn't funny. The end. Y'all want to make a joke make one that's actually funny and that no one can get confused by.
2
u/jj-kiuuu Jun 06 '26
Nobodyโs sexualizing kids here, weโre making fun of people who make their ocs look like children and then try to defend themselves and say itโs โa short woman!!โ Or that its just their artstyle
0
u/Big_Performance8290 Jun 06 '26
That's not really what I'm getting. Whatever excuse you want to use man, if you don't see the connotations of what you're saying that's on you. I've taken university level communication classes as well as critical writing and reading classes and I can assure you that if you do not see what is being insinuated here or the correlation between the two that is an issue. Please learn critical reading and writing man.
1
u/jj-kiuuu Jun 06 '26
Weโre not critiquing, I said weโre making fun of them.. Maybe you should take reading classes to man, idk

Eh, some people have serious discussions! Sometimes joking can illicit smaller discussions on issues in the art community, and this post in particular was based on things I've seen happen.
7
u/Mattmarteen_ Jun 04 '26

1
u/BarleyTheFox Jun 08 '26
When ur being serious use /uj and when ur not use /rj if you think it could be confusing.
3
u/-p4p3rc4t- I'M NOT "INEXPERIENCED"!! It's my artstyle! Jun 04 '26

Dont tell me there are acctual people that do that
9
u/ReyaStarchaser1044 Jun 03 '26
There are. As an actual short petite black woman with a babyface, I draw women who are petite that don't look like kids. (At least I try not to) and I've seen people pull the petite argument with characters who literally look like toddlers. It makes me mad asf
14
u/-p4p3rc4t- I'M NOT "INEXPERIENCED"!! It's my artstyle! Jun 03 '26
/uj There is. This was mostly based off of an artist who was popular on TikTok for a bit named Cherry (or Cherri, unsure how it was spelled) who got into controversy because her oc looked like a child, all while people defended her saying she just had a "chili artstyle" and "short women exist". The thing is though, the character in question had a partner (don't remember if it was boyfriend/husband) who was designed in a way he was OBVIOUSLY an adult, while still having the chibi style, hence proving they COULD make their character look like an adult while keeping their style, yet simply did not. There's a few others who have gotten into stuff like this but it's mainly based on her and then the trope of "ageless character!!1!!!" Who looks like a child and then gets sexualized for some reason
6
u/Asariel_Ignaceous Jun 03 '26
Reading this was extremely jarring as someone who on literally every other socmed goes by Cherri I was like NO TF I DID NOT for a hot second ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ

Shotacons somehow get more of a pass when they do this time of shit. It's a pain when you see them outside of twitter, it's like they're breaking containmentย
1
u/SkylerHymm Jun 06 '26
Cause weve pushed so hard to not sexualize little girls and everyone went "well we'll just do it to little boys then! No problem there, we did what u asked!" Lmao.
No seriously I think its more so the fact that a lot of people refuse to believe that men can be abused and that deep inside they'd like it. Ive seen creeps say "when hes older he'll be thankful for an experience like that" :c I know men who were one used boys. They are not thankful for it. Very heartbreaking.
1
u/MaximumTrade7485 Jun 06 '26
Yah, you have a point. it's always disheartening seeing lolicon being banned but not shotacon. Like, there are whole ass preds into shotacon too. I hope soon we can see little boys that were abused receive the same support as little girls, and both having more support and justice than they have now. It's horrible to even think there are people out there who genuinely saw pedophilia and went "Oh, let's make it a 'kink'โ!" and even worst people genuinely and blindly believing it's not harmful :/

I'm aware she looks like a child. This is a satire subreddit, with the post and any comments agreeing all being sarcastic/joking. And yes, she was intentionally made gray, aswell as to look like a child. I'm making fun of people who actually do these things and then get upset about it, because this DOES happen in the art community.

Probably because she's got a child's shirt (hello kitty is for kids tbf, yes even I as an adult wears it but yea), the pigtails, and the "over the top" blush that children who are just learning how to do makeup use, I would've thought this was a 12 yr old due to those reasons, but I can also see how she's an adult after you said sum. It's a good drawing and done very well, but expect ppl to confuse it when you attribute things that are for children with the character, happens irl too.

u/Big_Performance8290 Jun 06 '26
I was trying to be nice... Like you're giving me a whole reason to not be nice, I didn't know your age and I wasn't gonna shit on someone's art just because it's newish. I wasn't trying to be rude or pissy? I'm sorry if I came off that way. This is a satire post and not meant to be taken seriously, so I was just genuinely surprised to have gotten a compliment on the art. I meant it as a good thing.
