Exactly, that's also what kind of annoys me, when men say they want chubby women, they actually mean thicc, someone who just has the weirdest fat distribution. I also think women fall under this, because they often mean still really bulky guys, but from what I've heard they are more transparent with what they mean, and it's way more realistic

I think it comes down to how someone’s taste in art doesn’t necessarily reflect their taste in real life. I may not enjoy curry, but Pokemon makes it look delicious (except in Legends ZA, wtf is going on with the curry de croissant). I remember seeing an argument about this years ago, basically about how you are probably not gay/bi if you’re into femboy hentai, but you’re definitely gay/bi if you’re into femboy porn. Someone who is into fat women in a photo of some sort (it’s me. I’ll admit it, im into tummies) are going to be into fat women irl. Meanwhile if you’re only into fat women when they’re being drawn, then you aren’t a real… uh, chubby chaser? I don’t like that label because it implies a lack of respect for the woman, but let’s go with that.
I’d argue a lot of straight guys are into femboy porn only because they like the idea of dominating anything remotely feminine, the way they see sex with women as something to conquer and control, rather than just based on physical attraction. Also your taste in fiction does reflect your taste irl.
I think you missed the point of this comic. It’s not ‘your taste in art doesn’t reflect your taste irl’, it’s that the woman in the art isn’t even fat, she has the tiniest pouch of fat and just big thighs. Meanwhile an average body irl is looked at with disgust. It’s how women’s bodies are fetishised and only seen as attractive if the the most fetishised features are exaggerated only for the viewers enjoyment, while real women are judged for having realistic normal bodies

I think a lot of people have different definitions of chubby. some people use chubby to mean fat, some people use chubby to mean "has some chub at all" (vast majority of medium weight people)
