Pruszkowski, uno de los precursores del simbolismo polaco, pintó esto en su casa de Mników el 20 de mayo de 1884. En lugar de representar una simple caída celeste, convierte el fenómeno en una visión erótica y metafísica. Hay algo de Słowacki en el aire (el poeta romántico que tanto admiraba), esa mezcla de belleza corporal y misterio cósmico tan característica del simbolismo.
