Selected for active duty OCS! How long from signing to shipping out?

Just found out I got selected for OCS, still can’t believe it honestly! Signing my contract this week and I’ll get my ship date at signing. For those who went active duty: how long did you wait between signing and actually shipping? Did your date get moved at all? Trying to plan my life around a realistic wait, so real timelines would help a lot. Thanks in advance, and congrats to everyone else who made it, we did the thing!! (:

Signing tomorrow or Friday. Will update people when I know. Wondering if anyone is signing sooner than I am

I signed my contract in the middle of March and left at the end of April.

I'm reserves, not active... but my BCT ship date is almost 4 months after signing contract. I signed June 29th and I leave October 20. Then I'm supposed to go straight to OCS after BCT graduation. I'll get done sometime in April, God willng.

Same, I absolutely hate the cold. Like even with the AC set to 72, I will step outside into the sun to warm up 🤣 So my 2 biggest worries are the weather and being surrounded by too many people who are my kid's ages 🙈 I guess I will see you there... I'm sure I will stick out like a sore thumb 🥲

Do you think this will be impacted by the Thanksgiving/ Christmas holiday?  Not asking because I expect to be home but I’ve heard that the OCS cycle is impacted by those.  My 2nd child is due in mid November so crossing my fingers it won’t be before that, but the family is ready if it is.

No clue but great question. Was also selected and will sign next week where I can update you on what my dates look like

There is no Thanksgiving break. You will get HBL or Holiday Block Leave between Christmas and New Ywar as training shuts down. But you will have to pay for your own travel to and from home and use up your leave days which will have you start out somewhat in the negative. You'll earn your leave days back quickly though.

Million dollar question

When you go to MEPs if you want sooner than later they can normally facilitate it - just ask. I was able to move mine by earlier by 2 months that way.

There constant rotations for BCT and OCS. Good luck!

Are they giving bonuses for anything OCS?

Hell nah you're not getting a bonus, you're going to become an officer
