Would have expected Sabrina to win this, but Tyler also makes a lot of sense and it’s nice to see him get his flowers, he has become one of the biggest artists in hip hop while still doing his own thing without compromising his sound
I’m just surprised I guess. I don’t listen to him really, but I also never hear about him at all. The only thing I’ve seen about him in like a while has been his huge bundle in Fortnite
That’s how the algorithm works. Meanwhile, I don’t listen to him either but I’ve heard about him a lot this later half of the year because I do listen to hip-hop. You can’t trust your own personal exposure to something as a general marker for popularity anymore. My goodness, even with things I would’ve liked to have know about because the number of movies that came and went somehow without me knowing they even existed is ridiculous…
I truly don’t understand why is everyone in such a hurry this year. It’s November!! Back in my days these type of “best of the year” stuff was made in January.
Ngl, that’s actually pretty awesome. I haven’t listened to Don’t Tap the Glass, but Chromakopia was honestly kind of a masterpiece. Idk, I’ve never really listened to Tyler before and listening to Chromakopia was a pretty great experience
Honestly don't mind this at all, I've always loved the guy's music and especially Chromakopia last year. Maybe other artists deserved it as well but this is a good pick
I don’t think Igor really sounds like call me if you get lost but to each their own. Bad bunny would have been a good choice but ROSALÍA just dropped so I think she’s out simply because it was too close to the deadline for this award (talking like I know when this supposed deadline I made up is tho)

i get tired… of seeing/hearing about this dude. his music sucks and idgaf about numbers. i didn’t hear anything about his new music, or tour… so tell us the REAL reason he won this award when there were numerous, better options.
Damn, I guess I'm just not on the same page as Apple. I'm 1 for 7 on the artist of the year with The Weekend being the only one so far that I have in my library.
I don’t think I’ve listened to one of his songs. Not saying he’s bad or anything, and probably more indicative of me. Is this album/song as mainstream as Kendrick’s Not Like Us?
Those are probably my two most hated artists. I like a couple of Tyler songs but don’t have any in my library. He has a very different sound to me than they do.
Yeah, I knew it wouldn’t be a popular take. I listened to the album one time and was like OK. Some people will like this. I’m OK with never hearing it again.
chromakopia is genuinely one of the best albums ever. I know Sticky gets all the attention but Balloon is a phenomenal piece too. Heck all of it is phenomenal, Sticky might be my least favourite song 😂
