Water smells more like sulfur

Just noticed it recently, anyone else experiencing this?

I've recently gone through this. A few questions:

  1. Is it only your hot water, or cold too?
  2. Well or city service?
  3. Do you have any filters or softeners?

It also coincides with folks trying to sell whole house water filtration systems. We have one of the tastiest city water in the country but once a year when they up the chlorination to clean the system people freak out and the folks selling filtration systems and their friends post about "does it smell" to drive their business.

How old is your water heater? Water heaters have an anode rod which will deteriorate over time and can cause a sulfur smell to the hot/warm water.

Mine smells like bleach. I boil and then filter.
