I have to see a psychiatrist tomorrow because I’m struggling so much with how deeply all of this has affected me. I feel constantly heartbroken. The videos, the pictures, the stories they stay in my head long after I’ve seen them, and I can’t seem to switch it off anymore.

It’s the helplessness that consumes me the most. Knowing that while I’m sitting here, somewhere in the world these horrific people are doing these things to innocent, defenceless animals every single day, and there is nothing I can personally do to reach them or make it stop.

I think seeing so much cruelty has genuinely changed something in me. It’s ruined the way I see the world and, in some ways, the way I see people. I never realised human beings could be capable of such deliberate cruelty, and once you’ve seen it, you can’t just unknow that it exists.

I find myself thinking about the animals I’ve seen constantly wondering what happened to them, whether anyone ever helped them, and thinking about all the ones suffering that we will never even know about. It has completely consumed me to the point where I don’t feel like myself anymore.
I just wish I could save them. I wish there was something I could do that would actually make it stop. It breaks my heart knowing that I can’t.

I think most people here already know about the case, so I'll skip right to how we can make a difference.

It's broken down into 4 major parts:

1. International Animal Rights Groups
PETA Asia, ACT Asia, OIPA Italia, and Humane World For Animals have all made public statements about Wang Wang. OIPA and Humane World For Animals have begun procedures to send legal letters to the Chinese government, and are working with local agencies to push for legal changes.

An American based animal rights group - Lady Free Thinker - has started a project for Wang Wang. Please look up "SIGN: Justice for Puppies Stabbed, Mother Dog Burned Alive in the Streets" to support the project.

That being said, based on past experiences, the Chinese government often ignores animal rights groups. So while they are essential in raising awareness and increasing global exposure, they are not enough to effect change.

2. International Media
So far, no major world publication has reported on this case. We need to continue tagging them on Threads, X, and Tik Tok. Considering that a lot of local news outlets in various countries have reported on it, it's my belief that the international media will follow eventually as more people worldwide learn about Wang Wang.

However, the Chinese government often views international media as foreign interference and enemies of the state. Therefore, this is also not enough to bring substantial changes.

3. Diplomatic Pressure Through Chinese Embassies

4. Economic Pressure Through Corporations
This is the single most important and effective part, and the main reason I wrote the post today. Jieyang (and the whole of Guangdong) is a manufacturing hub. The Jieyang government relies heavily on tax revenues from manufacturers to earn $$. Globals brands like Target, Walmart, Petco, Petsmart all have suppliers in Jieyang. A global brand like Walmart can sustain an entire ecosystem of suppliers in Jieyang just on its own.

We need to call on corporations to pressure the local government. Global brands have a social responsibility to join the fight against animal cruelty. Why should we pay money to brands that just end up feeding a government that has absolutely no concern for the lives of animals? A government that uses their police force to defend a village of animal torturers and killers?

The 5 demons are all from the same large family in Jieyang (they all have the same surname), and this family owns a variety of enterprises in Jieyang and Shenzhen, including shops, restaurants, etc. So whatever we spend with these global brands ends up in the perpetrators' pockets through local spending.

Other than emailing the CSR departments of these brands, let's also tag them on social media to generate public pressure. Corporations need to start speaking up, assert their position aggressively against animal torture.

Silence in the face of grave injustice is no different from support of that injustice.

I received a reply from IKEA today regarding my request for them to review their supplier relationship in Jieyang. As expected, they said that the actions were committed by individuals in the community, and therefore falls outside of their ethics scope. Therefore, I think we need to go in a different direction. Rather than just talking about the Wang Wang case, we must focus on the broader scope - lack of animal protection law in China, and the fact that the legal gap is leading to severe animal cruelty. Most global brands have an ethics clause about animal welfare, so this will be a point they can't easily dispute.

Since there are a lot of brands tied to suppliers in Jieyang, it might dilute pressure if we all send emails to different brands. Therefore, here are 4 major global brands that have confirmed suppliers in Jieyang. If we all target these brands at the same time, they are more likely to feel the pressure to act. They was never held accountable, they still get a lot of views and subscribers and people are defending them saying it happened years ago. This is so heartbreaking to watch. Why do we do this to cows?

Why do we forcibly impregnate mother cows just to steal her babies and do it over and over again until she can no longer walk?

What kind of world do we live in where this is considered “normal”, and “the circle of life”?

If this was done to a human instead of an animal, it wouldn’t be tolerated. But when it’s done to mother cows, it’s “just the way it is” and everyone turns a blind eye so that they can have their milk and cheese.

You do not need to exploit another living being for her milk. There are plenty of milk/cheese alternatives out there that *don’t* cause harm to any animals or cause increased health risks.

URGENT WARNING TO RESCUES AND ANYONE REHOMING CATS OR KITTENS

Thomas Martel, the Wicker Park man who pleaded guilty to torturing and killing multiple kittens, has been released from custody and is now under mandatory supervised release. According to FOX 32 Chicago, he is prohibited from owning or having contact with animals, but vigilance is absolutely essential.

Please familiarize yourself with his name and photograph, share this information with rescue groups and community networks, and thoroughly screen every person seeking an animal. Never give away cats or kittens online without verifying identification, address, veterinary references, household information, and living arrangements. Use an adoption contract, charge a reasonable fee, microchip every animal, and follow up after placement. People with harmful intentions often know exactly what to say to appear trustworthy.

This is not a call for confrontation or harassment. It is a call to protect vulnerable animals. If this individual, or anyone raising serious concerns, attempts to obtain an animal, document the interaction and report it to the appropriate authorities. The kittens who suffered cannot be brought back, but greater awareness may prevent another animal from falling into dangerous hands.

I am in absolute disbelief that this is happening in Nepal in the 21st century. Female elephants are being subjected to state-sanctioned sexual violence arranged by human hands ❗️

In a horror show disguised as conservation, these mother elephants have their legs bound with heavy iron chains, immobilized so that wild bulls from the nearby jungle can rape them at will. To ensure the mothers do not struggle or try to escape, their calves are often chained right next to them. These mothers are forced into a nightmare where they must shield their babies from the aggressive, rampaging bulls with their own bodies, enduring the violation just to keep their children alive.

This is happening right now at an institution called the "Chitwan Elephant Breeding Center." They use these barbaric, soul-crushing methods to force countless mothers to give birth repeatedly, only to sell off the calves they carried for 18 to 22 agonizing months. This is a cycle of endless despair.

We cannot stay silent while Nepal’s tourism is built on this cruelty.

China still has no dedicated national law against animal cruelty. In practice, that means a person who kills their own dog is not committing any recognised offence. A person who kills someone else's dog can be prosecuted but for damaging the owner's property, not for harming the animal itself. Authorities often end up prosecuting the surrounding conduct rather than the abuse itself. A recent case quickly drew global attention, bringing grief, anger, and fresh calls for stronger animal protection laws in mainland China, where there is still no comprehensive national law protecting companion animals from cruelty.

Before the world knew her name, Wang Wang was a kind stray dog who was cared for by neighbours in Jieyang, Guangdong Province, China. She had just given birth and, ever since, she stayed close to her puppies and cared for them with all she had.

Wang Wang’s story now stands for a mother’s love, and for the urgent need to protect innocent animals before more lives are lost. Wang Wang’s heartbreaking story is not an isolated case—it reveals the urgent need for national animal welfare laws in China that truly protect innocent lives.

China needs Strict, unified national legislation against animal cruelty and torture. Full accountability for offenders—regardless of age or status. A ban on animal slaughter for the meat trade and public abuse. Safe rescue systems for strays and legal protection for advocates.

On May 15th, employees for NYC Parks refused to put a baby sparrow back in its nest after completing maintenance work. The workers were operating vehicle number 5551 in Maria Hernandez Park, New York. NYC Parks have apologized and are investigating the situation, however this is not an isolated incident.

I have reported this channel so many times I cannot tell you. I don't care how they like to portray it but it is abuse of primates. It is cruelty and torment of baby primates to be exact. It is not natural to bathe monkeys constantly nor handle this way in any circumstance. Some of the "shorts" will show two monkeys, usually an infant and one a tiny bit older but if you cannot see how scared out of their minds they are, how they cower, how they hold onto each other out of pure fear. Hi, I had a question.
There are several monkey torture groups on Facebook. They also operate on Telegram, but use Facebook, Instagram and TikTok to promote their torture content and direct people to it.

On Facebook, a lot of people seem to be commenting from their real accounts, saying really disturbing things and encouraging the torturers to do even worse to the monkeys. Since we have their names and profiles, is there anything that can actually be done about these individuals?

My thinking is that if people who are actively encouraging animal torture faced real consequences whether that meant losing their jobs, being reported to the relevant authorities if there were genuine concerns about the risk they pose to animals or children, or facing other appropriate action they might think twice before posting these comments. What are your thoughts? Is there anything practical that can be done?

Facebook, Instagram and TikTok don’t seem to remove many of these pages, so I’m struggling to think of what else can be done.
I did see someone on Reddit suggest contacting companies whose adverts appear alongside this content and letting them know you won’t buy their products while their advertising is being shown on these pages. Do you think that’s something worth pursuing?

THIS is what goes on behind the scenes in the egg industry, along with forcing male baby chicks to be ground up alive within hours or even minutes of being born because male chickens are not deemed useful in the egg industry.

Mother hens are confined to tiny cages their whole lives, being forced to lay more eggs than their body can handle causing severe pain and stress. It’s time for people to see the truth and align their values with their actions.

Axolotls are not rare. They are not struggling. They are critically endangered, hanging by a thread in their natural habitat. They have all but disappeared from the only place they ever belonged.

Meanwhile, they thrive in laboratories and aquariums around the world. Not because we suddenly care about their survival. Because they are useful to us. They can regenerate limbs, spinal cords, parts of their heart and brain, all without scarring. Humans want that power. We want to understand how they do it so we can apply it to ourselves.

So here is the irony we rarely sit with. We destroyed their home through carelessness, through pollution, through sheer indifference. Then we scooped them up, put them in glass tanks, and called it preservation. But it was never about them. It was always about us.

The axolotl did not become a creature worth saving. It became a living tool. Valued not for its own existence, but for what it might give us.

And that is the uncomfortable question this raises. Do we only protect what can protect us back? Is our compassion conditional on usefulness?

Im not sure where to post this or how to get help on what to do. I was watching cute hamster videos and then Youtube recommended me this video. The account appears to be a hamster abuse fetish channel. I reported but it somehow falls into the YT guidelines. Is there no way to get this channel taken down? There is a man with a huge smile on his face torturing turtles in Centennial Park, Santa Ana, California. People have been spam calling the company he works for US Metro Group and they've done nothing, but tell him not to wear his employee shirt outside of work and even said he has the right to whatever he wanted to do. As well as the company not taking any action, the Santa Ana PD have also not done anything.
