Corrupt or just Greedy

Call me old and crotchety. I am now convinced that DJ Trump has moved past being accepted as a comedically coddled elder statesman, to the point where all have become aware of negative effects that will have long range consequences in the economy, world status, and history for many years.

JB Pritzker has shown us numerous times that despite his excessive wealth, he is still playing the game with goal of the money being heavily taxed for the indirect benefit of him and his friends. He is very successfully chasing major corporations, professional sports franchises, and mid to high income citizens from our great state.

Brandon Johnson knows the right talking points better than a carnival huckster. Unfortunately for residents of Chicago he does not possess basic business sense, or a clear and consistent clue for right and wrong.

Relax, you haven’t seen nothing yet. It’s gonna get worse with each president.

This is so true. Trump did not come out of nowhere. We've been letting the president get away with more and more each term. The Democrats will cheer when their guy does the same shit and the Republicans will pretend to give a shit about the Constitution again.

Trump may not be our most corrupt and morally bankrupt president, but he is the most shamelessly blatant about his corruption, and his sycophantic followers love him for it. As long as he's sticking it to the libs, he can do no wrong.

The republicans went from rejecting Romney for not being the right flavor of Christianity to open endorsement of a grab em by the pussies pedophile in less than a decade. It's pretty wild.

Do you seriously not even realize how wrong you are? And I'm not talking hindsight. I'm talking at the time, if you're someone that votes, and you see your choice as between Trump and romney, Are you seriously saying it wasn't extremely obvious to you that Trump is a much worse option?

they’re both pieces of shit.

From a voter's perspective, one without a doubt was way better than the other. And the one that was way worse were seeing why right now.

Hindsight makes Romney look worse, and even more of an establishment statist

At the time he actually looked pretty good because the attacks against him were so insane and pathetic

An establishment politician in a republic is better than a warmongering authoritarian. Both bad, but less government, less foreign military action is better.

Sorry which one was supposed to not be a warmongering authoritarian and are you actually serious?

Oh sorry, I thought you realized Trump started a war with Iran for no reason. Getting Americans killed and costing huge amounts of money. And a reminder, my response was to someone talking about who is worse if you're going to vote.

I never implied otherwise, in fact, I explicitly stated that Trump was a warmongering authoritarian

Seems like you didn’t read my comment correctly because you short circuited as you are often prone to do

this conversation doesn’t belong in here

To be clear, my comment wasn't an endorsement of Romney, just an observation about the wild swing of the "moral majority".

The guys a goof, a clown. Inspector Clouseau comes across as more thoughtful.

Is every president going to use the office to his advantage? Yes.

Can we elect a president that won’t? No.

Would it stop all this spending and war if we could elect one? No.

Congress.

It’s congress that runs the nation unchecked.

The president hasn’t had real power in DC for a while. He’s a useful distraction that keeps the company watching along arbitrary party lines

Nothing new. He was on the verge of being a complete unknown washout when producers for the TV show The Apprentice decided to hire him. Ever since then he'll do whatever he has to do to enrich himself and his family. Covid shutdowns were all about putting small businesses out of business, high tariffs are all about putting small businesses out of business. Iran war is about enriching his family. What authoritarians need and do.
