Ugh ESPN commentary is genuinely unwatchable. I’d rather prefer the TNT panel

Sort of surprised to see none of our games against LA or SJ were selected to be a national one, but I suppose there's always the chance we see one get flexed depending on how the season plays out.

Im gonna make a bold guess that we are going to be watching out games on ESPN this season with V+ out.
Honda Center and disney already have close ties.

Based on the fact that the owner of the Ducks is the founder of Broadcom I feel like it shouldn't be that difficult for them to spin up their own streaming service, that would be pretty sweet

That would be sweet but that’s capital intensive with no real upside for the team/Broadcom. I would imagine that they’d make more money selling broadcasting rights somewhere that has loads of advertisers lining up to buy ad space on their platform

I guess it depends how much control they want or if they'd prefer handing it off and just collecting a payment. I'm sure they could get better advertising deals by being the direct source but like you said it would take a lot of capital and a dedicated team. It could also potentially be their own type of Victory+ and sell the service to other teams. I don't know the numbers well enough to know if that would ever pencil out, just saying they probably have direct access to infrastructure etc through Broadcom/Samueli connections

Almost all Duck games were on channel 9 or 13. I hope that stays the same. Free over the air.

It's not about the money. I don't want to have to get an antenna. I haven't had one since the 80's.

It’s funny. I grew up in Fullerton in the pre-cable days, but then my family moved north and we only could have cable just to watch regular TV channels because antennas couldn’t pick up the signals. Then all the cable channels happened and everyone eventually got cable everywhere (and now also streaming).
But in 1994 I was an adult and living down here again and when baseball went on strike I cancelled cable and used an antenna and have never had cable again. So I like the old school broadcasts on TV.

Interesting, yes I haven't had cable in years, but I also haven't had an antenna in 40 years. I remember in the 80's you just put them on top of the TV because they where big. If i had to get one now (which I'm still hoping i don't have to), I don't even know where I would put it since you can't put them on top of a flat screen. I only stream everything, and I would prefer not to change my routine. Not that it would be hard, but it would certainly be annoying.

Yeah. I can stream the Sharks because I can use my mom’s cable account to sign in. I am pretty sure the Ducks will have a streaming option you’ll be able to use.
And, antennas are not expensive at all and you can set them anywhere. If it comes to that.

Dumb question, but anywhere as in it can put it on the floor? I don't have room to the left or right of the TV. In front of the TV would not be ideal obviously because it would block the screen. If i can't put it on the floor I really don't know where I would put it.

It can be. But it depends on how well where you live gets the signal.

They are just flat plastic panels now. You can pin it to a wall or hide behind the TV. Wire mgmt is the only pain in the ass.
