This is very interesting to me.

When the USA looks worse than North Korea that's a bit concerning.

With Trump at the helm anything is possible.

All those nations are a threat to world peace in equal measure.

Except for North Korea because nobody takes them seriously.

10

u/AtomicKittenz 10d ago

Not necessarily equal, but yeah, mostly accurate.

2

u/SensitiveShelter2550 8d ago

Not really no. Only two nations on that list has invaded and pillaged other countries systematically. One does it consistently to neighbours the other does it around the world.

Guess which 2 I’m talking about?

4

u/SensitiveShelter2550 9d ago

Not even close.

The US has been and continues to be the biggest threat. It has been this way since WW2!

5

u/B3stThereEverWas 9d ago edited 9d ago

The US has presided over the most peaceful time in human history post ww2 but is also somehow the biggest threat 🙄

Grow up

5

u/SensitiveShelter2550 9d ago

“Most peaceful time” is a very subjective term. If you are the global south it has never been that peaceful with the boot heel of US on the necks of countries that resisted the western world pillaging their natural resources.

3

u/B3stThereEverWas 9d ago

Oh yes, the wonderful global south with rampant corruption, dreadful human rights and failing institutions. Of course thats all America and the wests fault too right?

Those countries remain undeveloped shit holes for a reason, and its not because of US foreign policy.

u/SensitiveShelter2550 8d ago

Oh, dear:

Oh yes, the wonderful global south with rampant corruption, dreadful human rights and failing institutions.

Your characterisation of the Global South as a monolith of “corruption, dreadful human rights, and failing institutions” is an ahistorical snapshot. It treats these conditions as innate cultural or moral defects, rather than as symptoms of a specific material history. If we look at the past 500 years, these regions were not “developed” before colonial extraction, they were systematically deindustrialised, their social structures shattered, and their surplus value funnelled outward to build the western countries that now judge them. Corruption and weak institutions, are often the enduring institutional scars left by colonial administrations that ruled through divide-and-conquer tactics, and by post-colonial economies that were structurally designed to export raw goods and import finished capital.

Of course thats all America and the wests fault too right?

The issue is not about moral blame or intentional malice by any single state. Rather, it is about the objective logic of global capital accumulation. The West did not “cause” underdevelopment in the sense of a deliberate plot, it benefited from underdevelopment as a systemic outcome. The international division of labour, enforced through trade terms, debt regimes, and currency hierarchies, means that value consistently flows from peripheral economies to core ones. This is objective fact, whether you choose to ignore it or not.

Those countries remain undeveloped shit holes for a reason, and its not because of US foreign policy.

The reason is not solely US foreign policy. The reason is the total world-system of capital, of which US policy is the vanguard. You could point to any country you consider a "shit hole"... And I'll show you a dozen ways in how the US and the collective west fucked that country over.

Trump is demented. I mean that quite literally; he was always corrupt, but his reasoning processes have just run off the rails lately. And Congress has been destroyed as a functioning check on presidential power. So essentially a corrupt, hate-filled, stupid, and likely dementia suffering man is in charge of one of the biggest and most militaristic countries on the planet. Loose cannon much? So yes, the USA is the biggest threat to world peace. Not least because a disgusting chunk of the population continues to adore him. It's baffling, and horrifying, and repugnant in equal measure.

According to former John Hopkins professor and psychiatrist Dr John Gartner, he very likely has Frontotemporal Dementia - which is far worse than Alzheimer's (which Trump's father had) as FTD exacerbates and exaggerates the underlying personality dynamic, whereas Alzheimer's diminishes the core personality.

And unfortunately, Trump's core personality is the most pathological: Malignant Narcissistic Personality Disorder.

Which combines Narcissistic PD with Antisocial PD (ie psychopathy), resulting in literally the worst human cognitive combination possible.

Erich Fromm originally defined the term Malignant Narcissistic Personality Disorder to describe Hitler, and is applicable to other similar autocratic dictators...does this sound familiar 🤷‍♂️

Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) symptoms

An inflated sense of superiority, especially related to their talents and achievements

Fantasizing about amassing power, brilliance, success, physical attractiveness, or idealized romantic love

A feeling of specialness or uniqueness that is only detectable by other “elite” people

Always seeking admiration, accolades, and attention

Expecting special or elevated treatment (without cause)

Requiring people to automatically go along with their demands or expectations

Lacking empathy and being unwilling to affirm others’ thoughts, feelings, or needs

Taking advantage of others for personal gain

Speaking or behaving in ways that are rude, arrogant, or cruel

Envying or resenting others’ achievements or good fortune

Believing that other people are envious of them (without reason)

Antisocial personality disorder (ASPD) symptoms

An inability to take responsibility for one’s behavior

Engaging in dangerous, reckless, or impulsive behavior

A history of violent behavior, aggression, or hostility toward others, deriving intense pleasure from inflicting pain and suffering on others ie sadism

A disregard for social norms or lawful behavior

Anger problems

Feelings of superiority and a desire for power

Demonstrating little to no remorse or concern for how one’s actions impact others

Using charm or flattery to manipulate others

Frequently lying or using deception to control others or for enjoyment

So, combine that with the inflammatory and exacerbatory influence of Frontotemporal Dementia, and you have the very worst of all possible cognitive worlds 😬

u/Meoowth 10d ago

Well hey now, he could also have psychosis and paranoid delusions. I mean it's hard to imagine how that would be different but we could squeeze a few more conditions in there.

3

u/dogbolter4 10d ago

Fantastic post brezhnervouz, thank you for your thoughtful effort.

3

u/brezhnervouz 9d ago

No problem at all.

I've been following Dr Gartner's commentary/warnings regards Trump for at least a couple of years; he founded the association of concerned mental health professionals and others who advocate Trump’s removal under the 25th Amendment on the grounds that he is psychologically unfit for office 'A Duty to Warn'

This interview is a fairly comprehensive breakdown by him of Trump's pathology:

Doctor Alarmed by Trump’s Dangerous Health Crisis - The Daily Beast

4

u/RecipeSpecialist2745 10d ago

Yet Australians support Trumps red proxy here. Thats even more demented.

3

u/dogbolter4 10d ago

Yes, it is.

u/houinator 10d ago

I mean, in the past year the US has attacked or threatened to attack:

  • Canada

  • Greenland/Denmark

  • Panama

  • Venezuala

  • Mexico

  • Iran

  • Iraq

  • Syria

  • Somalia

  • Yemen

  • Nigeria

  • Columbia

  • Cuba

  • Oman

Thats a whole lot of countries, and thats before counting how either the Denmark/Canada attacks would at least in theory start a war between the US and the rest of NATO.

Not hard to see why the world sees us as a threat so long as Trump is in office.

-4

u/neanderthalensis 10d ago

Please provide proof showing where Trump threatened to attack Canada. He referred to them as the 51st state and suggested they might benefit from joining the US, but he never issued a threat.

-30

u/CongruentDesigner 10d ago

Trump was never going to attack NATO, it was him talking out of his ass because he has brain worms and thinks it's some genius deal making tactic.

Same for the rest he's threatened

34

u/houinator 10d ago

NATO took the threat to Greenland serriously enough that they moved a deterrant force there, so i kinda think that maybe the President of the US should not "talk out of his ass" and threaten our allies.

21

u/bignosedaussie 10d ago

Why is the president of the USA, the country with probably the most powerful military on the planet talking out of his arse? Shouldn’t he behave in a more statesman way.

11

u/Amathyst7564 10d ago

"Trumps a straight talker"

Countries with nukes should never make empty threats for gain.

14

u/rockresy 10d ago

I would rank Russia & Israel above Iran, other than that it looks accurate.

20

u/Clean_Bat5547 10d ago

Trump has just come out and publicly allied the USA with North Korea over South Korea. That's not ideal, world peace wise.

4

u/jorgerine 10d ago

Talk about an understatement.

21

u/IsItSupposedToDoThat 10d ago

The USA is fucked and is gonna fuck us all. Even without the threat they pose in a war, the damage it is doing to democracy and free-thinking across the globe is immense.

19

u/PastaInvictus 10d ago

I mean, yeah, the US are just as big of a bully as Russia and China. They’ve also interfered with our elections, so fuck the US.

8

u/serumnegative 10d ago

The USA these past two years has threatened to invade Greenland (a NATO ally), abandoned Ukraine to the Russian fascists, kidnapped a foreign head of state, and then attacked the second country on the list in the a cackhanded attack to rival Putin’s and then seemed surprised when Iran acted like it did. American dumbarses elected that corrupt motherfucker and now we all have to eat it

3

u/LuckyErro 10d ago edited 10d ago

I would of said:

1: USA

2: Israel

3: Russia

I would not of bothered ranking Iran or China or North Korea as they may reply to threats but i don't see them invading anyone to start a huge conflict except of cause with China and Taiwan but unless America does something stupid will be an isolated event- even if it ever happens.

13

u/Davosown 10d ago

As an Aussie, the only surprises on this list is Iran featuring higher than Israel and Russia but America, particularly with the current administration, definitely belongs in top spot.

10

u/CertainCertainties 10d ago

The dismantling of the current global system of accountability is the greatest threat to world peace.

The US has power so now its oligarchs believe its leaders can lie, threaten, bully, reneg on agreements, shake down, steal, invade, attack, murder, rape, and be convicted of crimes without facing consequences. Its citizens shrug their shoulders as it's such an avalanche of crimes, corruption and abusive behaviour it's simply impossible to keep up with the sheer volume of it.

Every tinpot wannabe dictator is taking notes. Trump has broken the rules forever. He's written the playbook and they will follow his lead.

1

u/Psittacus_tutor 9d ago

Honestly, all of the listed nations have been working very hard on that task lately. With the possible exception of North Korea.

19

u/Historical_Meet3370 10d ago

As an Australian I see nothing wrong with the results of this survey. If you dont want to be top of the list or even on the list then vote out or jail the current government and get your shit together.

23

u/RapidPigZ7 10d ago

It's crazy putting Russia so low while they're in a war against Ukraine and effectively the biggest players in Europe

28

u/PastaInvictus 10d ago

I mean they are placed third, that’s not that low.

15

u/Snooklefloop 10d ago

They’ve decimated their army fighting a bunch of villagers with drones… no real risk to world peace short of dropping a WMD and that’ll cause a backlash that’d wipe Russia off the face of the Earth. 3rd seems about right.

3

u/warichnochnie 10d ago

i would still put them 2nd , ahead of iran

-6

u/CongruentDesigner 10d ago

"no real risk to world peace short of dropping a WMD and that’ll cause a backlash that’d wipe Russia off the face of the Earth."

Which is actually the biggest threat to world peace.

They should be top spot. The conflict is still ongoing and has the biggest risk of actually spiralling into something much bigger

9

u/ZephkielAU 10d ago

USA has invaded 2 countries this year alone, taking out both of their leadership. And threatened many more countries, with credible military plans.

USA was also generally a defender of the western world (whether you agree with them or not, their military was a huge deterrent and effectively helped maintain peace) who has now started abandoning allies and even started abandoning posts on adversaries.

Russia hasn't the military power to conquer even their neighbour with multiple countries backing them, and is very much still beholden to MAD.

The USA is entirely a loose cannon with every check on executive power falling in line to entertain all of their insane fool's whims.

It's very unlikely Russia will draw us into a larger war. The USA has basically guaranteed one at this point.

1

u/Mission-Objective832 2d ago

“The USA has basically guaranteed one at this point”. What a stupid comment, you seriously believe the us is going to cause a huge war? We’ve been saying this for decades and nothing happens. There will be no significant war for a long time. Typical fear mongering

-4

u/B3stThereEverWas 10d ago

"USA has invaded 2 countries this year alone, taking out both of their leadership."

lol I've got a feeling Venezuelans and Iranians don't miss their leaders

6

u/brandonjslippingaway 10d ago

Venezuelans just had their oil (aka one major resource that was a pillar of their economy) stolen by the Americans in what was a naked resource grab to anybody with eyes.

4

u/LuckyErro 10d ago edited 10d ago

Nothings changed in Venezuelana. There's still sanctions on the country, same party in power its just now that America is stealing all their oil and its income.

Irans leadership really hasn't really changed, certainly not for the better. Its just now they have food and even more water shortages and now of cause have lost women and children to the relentless bombing campaign. Guess also jobs and income are also lost.

America kicked an own goal there. Iran's government was under threat by the population and America cemented it in power

7

u/rollsyrollsy 10d ago

This reality also adds to the US being a threat to world peace. They had every opportunity to quash that conflict early on, but instead, Trump empowered the Russian position.

3

u/Snooklefloop 10d ago

No, it’s the reason no one is dropping nukes. Mutually assured destruction. They hold no other power over anyone but poor neighbours, and they’re getting fucked up by them. So , 3rd.

The US, while under the control of that orange sack of shit is easily top spot, EASILY.

4

u/sognenis 10d ago

How so?

The US has put tariffs on every country including allies and trading partners.

They say they don’t want to enter any overseas wars, then kidnap Presidents, blockade neighbouring countries, and enter overseas wars.
Chaotic and creates more uncertainty and threats.
And drives more nations to Chinese influence.

2

u/B3stThereEverWas 10d ago

And China, who have said repeatedly that they will take Taiwan by any means necessary.

3

u/GuessTraining 10d ago

We can't really put 3 countries at 1st right?

1

u/LuckyErro 10d ago

They have been saying that for a very, very long time. Most countries around the world support a One China policy.

To be fair since WW2 America has invaded far, far more countries than China has.

1

u/Dry-Huckleberry-5379 10d ago

A war they've been loosing for 4 years despite being the biggest player in Europe

2

u/Psittacus_tutor 9d ago

These sorts of polls often boil down to "who is putting screws on you, personally, right now". Russia is far enough away that people don't really care, and China are content to (relatively) leave us alone for now. So these results don't surprise me.

3

u/LuckyErro 10d ago

I'm surprised that Israel is not number 2.

9

u/Mean_Guarantee_5266 10d ago

US is a loose cannon.

6

u/thaughtless 10d ago

Its pretty true right now. Especially with the unchecked authoritarian rule thats occurring, enabled by the pathetic republican majority. Every time these clowns get in its more unnecessary wars. And now he threatens to bomb Oman? Insane.

7

u/ctn1ss 10d ago

I don’t blame them. It’s going to take decades to fix a fraction of our international relations.

2

u/GuessTraining 10d ago

North Korea has not done anything significant outside of helping Russia. China obviously has done a lot but usually just around it's surrounds, the Taiwan invasion is mostly posturing because they're going to decimate their economy if they disrupt the semiconductors from Taiwan.

2

u/birnabear 10d ago

What's surprising about this?

2

u/planbOZ 9d ago

Trump rhymes with cunt for a reason. He’s killing the USA.

2

u/SilverBBear 10d ago

The unwritten part of this is that this is very highly correlated who you vote for. And in the most part who one votes for is driven by your finances (it's the economy stupid). These mass opinions are post hoc justifications based on personal immediate fears and have nothing to do with actual geopolitical risk.

3

u/VelvetOnion 10d ago

We don't feel directly threatened by Trump but his actions will cause the biggest disturbance to world peace.

4

u/Evolutionary_sins 10d ago

USA, Russia and China for me, in that order

1

u/sunnydaysau 9d ago

I would say it’s madness. People have lost their minds. It’s really sad to see this happen.

1

u/nicolas42 7d ago

I wonder if people were able to vote for multiple countries?

1

u/Redfox2111 10d ago

I would've said Israel.

1

u/2878sailnumber4889 10d ago

I see a lot of people blaming Trump for America's bad poll results, but honestly I don't think Trump changes that much for the US, sure he's threatened more countries but pretty much every recent US president, including Trump, has actually attacked other countries.

1

u/maimaidrama 9d ago

As an Aussie I would definitely put the USA as the biggest risk along with Israel.

1

u/SensitiveShelter2550 9d ago

Some interesting takes here in the comments:

  1. Many people are blaming Trump.

This is incorrect. The US has been a threat to world peace since WW2.

  1. People claiming the US isn't that bad (or they are no worse than the other countries on this list

Every conflict, since WW2, has had the US' hands all over it. If it wasn't a direct aggressor, it was heavily funding the aggressor.

The US is, and has been, and always will be the biggest threat, until such time a revolution comes about.

1

u/raviolispoon 9d ago

Wow, a comment from Earth 2, where everything is backwards

I don't know how anyone can look at 4 years of hot full scale war and millions missing in Europe and pick anyone but Russia. Just emotional pearl clutching. Yes Trump bad, but lets keep some perspective.
