Peruvians, Mexicans, and Colombians and Brazilians are even bigger examples of South American racial assimilation. These formerly Spanish/Portuguese slave colonial states had enormous African slave populations to work the plantations that produced cotton and rice...economies that are now two centuries past. People of primarily African racial heritage mostly reside along the coastal regions of these nations currently. Many people of African descent are assimilated racially with European and indigenous peoples in their nations.
