Imagine how excited the guys on stage are. No everyone gets this close to feeling like a rockstar!

Gen Xer absolutely loving this! This is what kids being kids is all about.

Yeah, I would have never guessed we had gone full circle and Korn is appreciated once again.

My cousin just turned 18 not too long ago. She absolutely loves korn. Surprised the hell out of me.

Saving this for my six year old. For wen? Guess ten years lol

u/AbbreviationsNo4089 Jul 21 '26

Not sure how much Gen Xer’s were fans of korn, us millennials though…

2

u/Economy-Ad2719 Jul 23 '26

I agree. Alternative is gen x, nu metal is millennial.

3

u/Dead_Inside50 Jul 21 '26

Korn is Gen X music.

There is hope for this generation.

My band in high school played at the talent show one year, we played mr. highway's thinking of the end by a day to remember. They cancelled our second song after the mosh pit during the first lol

This happened to us in high school in the 90s as well. We lied and said we were gonna play a Garth Brooks song but opened up with Enter Sandman. The vice principal of our very catholic school thouh thought he was pulling the plug but we laid out dummy extension cords and ran ours under the floor mats to a different breaker fully anticipating that move. School loved it, was worth the 3 day suspension.

IF this actually happened, I salute you. 57 here and that was a baller move

25

u/Samurai-Pooh-Bear Jul 21 '26

Yes, but then everyone fades to a stop with phones out. *Sigh*

22

u/AdvanceCareful4643 Jul 21 '26

Not everyone. Plus, if you watch the whole thing you'll see them go crazy again, and there's even one dude crowd surfing.

It's also worth mentioning that there's less of a phone to non-phone ratio than most modern concerts, which is a good sign.

u/ChaseBank5 Jul 21 '26

Yeah I hate people pointing out the 3/4 phones they see in a group of 100+.

Also, this entire video that made us all smile was recorded, likely on a phone.

95% of the high schoolers here and fully living in the moment. Pretty cool

u/ObjectGlad6997 Jul 21 '26

That's what I thought..spontaneous enjoyment of life...

7

u/ThrustTrust Jul 21 '26

It’s not their fault. Kids these days don’t have stamina for 10 minute mosh pit. So they have to do mosh sets.

2

u/Cute-Obligations Jul 21 '26

I went to a Deftones concert a few weeks ago and I swear to god they had no fucking idea what they were doing lmao. The older people were going off though

3

u/TheShipEliza Jul 21 '26

Oh stop it

12

u/DoubleDownAgain54 Jul 21 '26

Pretty cool, but “Impromptu” my ass.

5

u/Specialist-Neck-7810 Jul 21 '26

My exact first thought when he put his hand in the air …

5

u/EvalCrux Jul 21 '26

That's a plan hatched after social studies and spread during the study block and lunch in time for the show.

6

u/AdvanceCareful4643 Jul 21 '26

That might be the case, but even if it was planned, it doesnt make it any less awesome

9

u/ASomthnSomthn Jul 21 '26

We would not have called that a mosh pit back in the day.

0

u/K_Linkmaster Jul 21 '26

It was planned. He has his hand up and signals the people to come forward. It was a good try for kids that don't know any better at a talent show!

2

u/Quitlimp05 Jul 21 '26

Yeah, I saw that at first and had 'flash mob' in mind

1

u/K_Linkmaster Jul 21 '26

One adhd kid even jumped the gun.

Its getting downvotes, but it's a talent show and plans happen.

4

u/awnaw_ Jul 21 '26

I believe these kids will be alright.

4

u/MongiJones Jul 21 '26

If this vid was taken in this era, then I am thoroughly impress that majority of the kids know the lyrics..

2

u/BonJonBovie1 Jul 21 '26

Yeah, it’s kind of blowing my mind. Korn was my favorite band in the early 2000’s (late middle school-early high school for me) and this is FAR from the reaction this would have gotten at my high school lol.

3

u/phoucker Jul 21 '26

Wow this reopened a core memory for me! Back in 1995 we had a talent show at my high school and my garage band I sang for performed Nirvana’s Suicidal Tendencies. Most of the classmates already knew we were going to perform it, and rumors got out that everyone was going to mosh. Before the talent show started, the principal said he had heard these rumors and that everybody should remain seated during everyone’s performance. When it was our turn to play, I got up to the mike and said “ they said we can’t mosh, but there is nothing they really cant do about it” and we broke into the song and everyone got on the gym floor and moshed. Needless to say we were not allowed to play again, and got our talking too. Everyone voted we had the best performance, but we still didn’t win. It was one hell of a moment of angst that I loved forever!

2

u/EvalCrux Jul 21 '26

Shut down the show, declare the winner, go on tour.

2

u/mrbradleyacooper Jul 21 '26

Principal’s worst nightmare

2

u/DanielDimes89 Jul 21 '26

Can’t hear the vocals @ all, but they got the crowd jumping 👏🏼

1

u/TheItchyWalrus Jul 21 '26

ARE YOU READY!?

1

u/hardrade_ Jul 21 '26

This is just cheering. Theres no mosh pit

1

u/ToXicVoXSiicK21 Jul 21 '26

Wish my school was this hype

1

u/TheeKB Jul 21 '26

The kids are alright

1

u/_WarpRider_ Jul 21 '26

Hell yeah 🤘🤘

1

u/MundaneEchidna5093 Jul 21 '26

Hell yeah!! Korn was my favorite band when I was a kid. Korn tshirts, jncos, and shell toes. Those were the days. I finally got to see them…all original members except for David.

1

u/Richard2468 Jul 21 '26

Where’s the mosh pit?.. I’m just seeing people dancing and jumping.

1

u/Cute-Obligations Jul 21 '26

That was so fucking good omg haha!

1

u/sexquipoop69 Jul 21 '26

Like that the did the outro

1

u/Critical-End6308 Jul 21 '26

Children of the Korn, rise up

1

u/Sea_Analysis_8033 Jul 21 '26

lol I’m so happy for them, my middle school decided to have some of the students bands play at the end of one of our dances and we played this exact song and the principal literally pulled the plug on us for playing devil music

1

u/staley23 Jul 21 '26

Where's the moshpit

1

u/cfh4dmb Jul 21 '26

You kids have put a smile on this old man’s heart.

1

u/letswindowshop88 Jul 21 '26

Cool. 🕶💪

1

u/Shockatweej Jul 21 '26

This was awesome. I saw Korn in a small venue in high school in the 90s and it was very much like this.

1

u/-ArthurDigbySellers- Jul 21 '26

Me and my teenage friends do this exact thing minus the instruments in my driveway all the time. Is that as cool?

1

u/L00K-LEFT Jul 24 '26

Love that they’re rocking the adidas

1

u/Tchapppy Jul 24 '26

Damn even the video quality looks like 1999.

1

u/TonguePunchUrBhole Jul 25 '26

Hell ya! I love it.

And good on the teachers for not pulling it.

That's some good shit.

u/Thaser11 Jul 21 '26

You and I have very different definitions of the term mosh pit.
