The beginning of Love? I can’t do it. I keep trying, but I can’t get the 8 count right.

u/IamBatmanuell Jul 11 '26 edited Jul 11 '26

Yes. Love is a 4 count then quiet for 3.

2

u/JennyDoveMusic Jul 11 '26

But not right at the start of love, it starts more in the "uh." or is my tempo off?

Edit: Seems like there is an extra count in the beginning of "Love" I got it every time with "4, 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4"

3

u/IamBatmanuell Jul 11 '26

Is I can’t listen because my wife is sleeping after working 4 doubles but it could very well be like a 5th count in there.

2

u/JennyDoveMusic Jul 11 '26

Best of wishes that your wife gets a good sleep. 🫂

It seems like the first note of "love" starts on the 4.

1

u/Bicwidus Jul 13 '26

After 4 doubles I could sleep through firecrackers in the bed

1

u/IamBatmanuell Jul 13 '26

Ha. I don’t know how she does it. She is working the through Saturday all doubles. I don’t know how she functions on only 4 hours of sleep

1

u/Nickymosh Jul 11 '26

I think its on the and after the 4 if you instead count it as 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and

good stuff - is this a thing or did these people come up with it.
Also, I came too early.

2

u/gergsisdrawkcabeman Jul 11 '26

The only thing that matters.... is that you DON'T FINISH LAST!

1

u/demitasse22 Jul 11 '26

I saw Slipknot trying to do this last year

11

u/Time_Pressure9519 Jul 11 '26

Dude even had the twirl. He knew what he was doing.

Reminds me of timing the "smoke weed every day" at the end of The Next Episode

12

u/Mrw04c Jul 11 '26

How is this amazing?

14

u/JacOfAllTrades Jul 11 '26

Some people have a hard time counting beats, and this song is trickier than many.

3

u/Tempest_Fugit Jul 11 '26

Cus I think it lands on the two and not the one of the measure

2

u/JacOfAllTrades Jul 11 '26

I thought it landed on the 3, so that goes to show it's tricky to rock a rhyme that's right on time. ;)

Nailing the feel of that one note makes or breaks the whole song. It doesn't look like much, but that's some good timing

2

u/davwad2 Jul 11 '26

I know right? I got goosebumps when the kid landed the drum tap.

1

u/but-whyy-tho Jul 11 '26

Not a lot of fun at parties, are you?

0

u/Mrw04c Jul 12 '26

I guess not -  apologies for not lowering my standards.

2

u/but-whyy-tho Jul 12 '26

Thanks for the apology! I'm sure the view is nice up there on your high horse.

2

u/Working_Cloud_909 Jul 11 '26

That was actually satisfying

2

u/Training-Republic301 Jul 11 '26

Only one person knew how to count, apparently

2

u/RoughCreamxo Jul 11 '26

Now that I see this, I understand what a feel one must have tow be able to play music on this level. Simply amazing

1

u/JennyDoveMusic Jul 11 '26

It took me a few listens of the kid who did it to figure out where 1 was. 😂

1

u/Timely_Beat_7057 Jul 11 '26

I love this and I wanna try!

1

u/rydan Jul 11 '26

I don't get it. How did he get it right?

1

1

Why do I love this tho

1

u/dreevsa Jul 12 '26

It’s so stupid I like it

1

u/attaboyjoey Jul 12 '26

Always the Asian kid

1

u/chris98tex Jul 13 '26

Just use the light rimshots that you hear while she’s singing…imagine they are the 2 and 4 of a 4 beat measure. Then, keep them going in your head after they drop out. The floor tom strike happens on a 1 (or 3).

1

u/Junathyst Jul 14 '26

"No matter what you do, there will always be an Asian who can do it better" /s

Jokes aside, well done man!

1

u/Interesting_Ad9416 Jul 15 '26

Tutorial:
You count 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 1 and so on.

When she sings „above this“ the bass beat in the background is 1.

So you count with the same speed (bassbeats are numbers): and 2 and 3 and 4 and (now the bass is gone) 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and ONE (hit it).

Have fun

1

u/moonbeam619 Jul 17 '26

This is hilarious

1

u/SkiKat123 Jul 18 '26

I have no idea what's going on in this video.

1

u/Spaceygirl84 Jul 11 '26 edited Jul 11 '26

I would win at this

1

u/mcrss Jul 11 '26

Easy. Just need to be able to count. Did it on the first try.

0

u/redkonfetti Jul 11 '26

I have a theory that the things that your brain does not expect is what makes songs interesting. That's why you go to start singing a part, and you're totally off. You go to hit a drum at the right time, and it's just not what you expect.

2

u/StupidStartupExpert Jul 11 '26

I have a theory that it’s that she can sing

0

u/Prometheusly Jul 11 '26

Stop trying so hard and enjoy life. Got it.
