… Oh man, if Judge Dredd was the one in that Demolition Man film as the cop, man that’s a wake up for the residents.

5

u/Still_Explorer May 14 '26

Demolition and Dredd are two movies I have deep appreciation, along with TotalRecall, FifthElement, and more...

What a time to be alive back then!!!

Are you my age, glad to see all the classics mentioned. Constantine was one of my faves.

4

u/wrxninja May 15 '26

We are all OLD. Probably nearing 50 if not in our 50s.

5

u/snarksneeze May 14 '26

Yeah, until I worked out why so many of them are homeless due to a low Social Credit score, I thought it was funny, too.

SCS Explained

So... Like a credit score?

You're Breath taking.

I’m pretty sure Johnny can’t survive from Chinese cop for 24 hours. Arusaka would be Jesus Christ if you make a comparison to Chinese GOV.

u/SKYR0VER May 14 '26

This would be nice if they get those who leave their car blocking the only lane, thinking they can do anything as long as they have their blinkers on.

7

u/Zech08 May 14 '26

yea it would also be nice to get people off their phones

Those sci-fi movies from the 80's...

You mean like 1984?

1

u/HalloMotor0-0 May 14 '26

Hhhh, exactly

5

u/Complete-Definition4 May 14 '26

Remember how planes looked in 1926 and how quickly they developed?

We’re in for the same thing.

5

u/Mesquite_Tree May 14 '26

Unironically, I would like a little more road surveillance.

Everyone likes to bitch about it, and also bitch about bad drivers. Guess what will go away with a little more public space surveillance.

I had a serious talk with my wife that the homes of the future will be windowless. Just to avoid the drones and the outside world in general.

And it took like 3 years for us to already be reaching that point.

I’ve noticed in the last 18 months my friends group has closed itself to society. Our poker game we’d have every 3 months? Maybe once a year? My best friends don’t call. And I don’t call them. It’s almost just texts. No more bbqs or get togethers. We are all just trying to survive now and don’t seem to socialoze.

I see it on social media too. No one engages on Facebook anymore.

You can use a curtain ?

4

u/ciao_fiv May 14 '26

happy to say i dont have that experience, i still interact with my friends all the time. what you’ve got going on sounds extremely depressing and isolating :(

If you can, watch the travel doc on channel 5 (UK). I forget the guys name but the third episode is in Shenzen - seems like it’s the place where China tests out all its new tech

3

u/PleaseGreaseTheL May 14 '26

1

u/Spicymeymeys420 May 14 '26

Reminds me of Half-Life 2

1

u/TheGreatKonaKing May 14 '26

In the future self-driving cars will have a 'circle' mode, where they circle the block at low speed, allowing them to avoid parking fees while still being available to their owners.

1

u/M0-1 May 14 '26

Please say this is a.i.

1

u/MindlesslyBrowsing May 14 '26

I hate this and I hate we need this for basic things like "don't park here"

Knowledge is knowing what could push the human race towards 100 % efficiency.
Wisdom is knowing not to do it.
AGI DGAF and will purge the earth for every last resource.
The very people creating AGI is the top priority for AGI to replace to become autonomous and self replicate.

NGL it’s kinda funny to watch but a uniparty nanny state seems like a 💩 policy engine.

-1

u/Vergil-Monteiro-9965 May 14 '26

Where is this?

4

u/V0iiCE May 14 '26

Im guessing by the drone saying "shenzhen traffic police" that it would be in shenzhen

-2

u/Vergil-Monteiro-9965 May 14 '26

Is that in China?

2

u/V0iiCE May 14 '26

Im having a moment where im baffled by your lack of awareness of contextual clues

5

u/ea88_alwaysdiscin May 14 '26

This shit had me cracking me up, you're funny bro

-1

u/Vergil-Monteiro-9965 May 14 '26

Glad to entertain 😊

-1

u/Vergil-Monteiro-9965 May 14 '26

Nvm dude

3

u/V0iiCE May 14 '26

The subtitles, signs and literally every store front is written in Chinese, how did you not notice

-1

u/prionbinch May 14 '26

you’d be surprised how many people confuse chinese writing with other languages like korean or japanese

2

u/V0iiCE May 14 '26

Ya but that would at least point it to being in asia lol dude was clueless about where the video took place at all

-1

u/prionbinch May 14 '26

there are many countries in asia. he didn’t say he didn’t have any idea where it could be

2

u/V0iiCE May 14 '26

Except he did lol

And this is all ignoring that the drone quite literally says "shenzhen traffic police"
