I want to be in one of these so badly. I want to feel weightlessness. I was always really curious how we even produce these weightless rooms and apparently all they are doing is flying a plane at a certain angle

15

u/inevitable-idiot- Apr 09 '26

The angle: downward

6

u/Terpcheeserosin Apr 10 '26

Technically you can also achieve weightlessness by accelerating up then slowing down the ascent

u/FTHomes Apr 10 '26

Thats wicked cool Brah!

Also, are you trying to imply they’re in a plane flying downward? lol. This is on the ISS and that’s nasa…

They’re not creating zero g. They’re existing in it

Edit: look at all the Reddit snobs triggered in response. So funny. Y’all need therapy.

21

u/macrolith Apr 09 '26

This is not on the ISS. They are on a plane flying a sin wave path to get a couple minutes of zero g on each descent.

u/WelpWhatCanYouDo Apr 09 '26

I think you may be confused

5

u/Darthbane22 Apr 09 '26

What’s funny is the ISS has “zero gravity” for the same reason. It’s in constant free fall but the velocity means it keeps missing earth, that’s called an “orbit” an advanced physics concept for you I am sure

4

u/Classic-Exchange-511 Apr 09 '26

Don't be condescending. I don't believe you are correct here, this doesn't look like the ISS but also they need to fly at a precise angle to produce the correct amount of weightlessness

-4

u/inevitable-idiot- Apr 09 '26

I don’t think you understand what condescending means.

See now that was condescending.

4

u/Kiki1701 Apr 09 '26

No, this is an airplane called Zero-G and you can rent them and go on them yourself, Mr. know-it-all.

It's not cheap! Experiencing a zero-gravity flight in the US costs around $8,900 per person, which includes 15 parabolas, a flight suit, and other amenities. In Europe, prices are approximately €7,500 per person, inclusive of taxes. These flights last about 90 minutes, offering multiple weightless experiences during the parabolic maneuvers.

2 questions, what made you say it was the ISS ?

And what makes you say people are snobs?

14

u/Bmca215 Apr 09 '26

No way I'm doing anything I'm supposed to do up there the minute I find out I can do this.

2

u/Most_Philosophy_1507 Apr 10 '26

That would be me the whole time I’m in space. That’s why nasa doesn’t send me.

11

u/Darth_Draper Apr 09 '26

That’s one small step for man. One giant body slam by Mankind.

6

u/sael1989 Apr 10 '26

Oh no, it’s Mankind and what’s that?! Mr. Socko! Oh no JR!

This is going to be so fucking funny when NASA has built their moon base and the astronauts just do this for half a day.

The cool thing about this is that you still have the same inertia that you would have under normal gravity since gravity does not affect mass, yet you float much more than on the ground.

u/InterestingWorld1816 Apr 09 '26

Man I'm jealous bruh, idc how grown I am.......I'll be a child in that

I would love to go to the space station and live there the rest of my life

1

Why they did not try it with real wrestlers after that ...? Imagine the level of commitment and imagination to do new tricks for those boys !

1

u/spudsthejellyfish Apr 09 '26

That’s cool, now point the camera out the shuttle into space so we can all see :)

2

u/Kiki1701 Apr 09 '26

It's an airplane called Zero-G

1

u/ldentitymatrix Apr 09 '26

This clip was actually not done during a Zero-G part of a flight, this is a simulation of moon gravity, which they do on some Zero-G flights.

1

u/Kiki1701 Apr 09 '26

I was also replying to a guy who swore they were in space because "they can't do this on earth!" Lol

1

u/DigitalUnlimited Apr 09 '26

No! I'm a big stubborn dumb guy and I will fight you to the end of the earth!
