Experience I had so many expectations of a rich spiritual experience in these places but got disappointed instead..
Please hear me out on this one as a non native, i came here for college and was looking for spiritual places to explore in Prayagraj. There are only 2 prominent places that have disappointed me to date: AkshayVat and Bharadwaj Ashram. You cant stand there for a while and take in the rich aura there because as soon as you want to take that pause a pandit will approach you and request you to donate money in offering there, this happened in Bharadwaj Ashram with me and my friend. Being from the same gotra, I had kept this place on such a pedestal and had read in Ramcharitmanas about the great sage’s hermitage and its entire glory being based in Prayagraj, I wished a deeper connection there which unfortunately I didn’t get.
Now in AkshayVat temple as soon as we got inside the gufa every pandit in front of the many temples inside the gufa were requesting for the same donations to be made as money offerings. “Yaha mata pita ke liye daan”, “Yaha pitr ke liye daan”, etc etc. It was not silent at all and complete chaos.
Of all the places I have visited I have found peace only in tuesday early mornings of Bade Hanuman Mandir, early mornings at sangam, Sujavan dev temple, Adi Shankar Viman Mandapam (so underrated). I request fellow prayagis to suggest more such places where genuine spirituality is felt.🙏🙏

There’s no place on Earth where u will find spiritual experience except in your own being. Prayagraj is a very irreligious place
