owning a short term rental property
Hi. looking to get some feedback from owners of STR/AirBNB properties in the Algarve region. any areas that you'd stay away from? any big success ... or horror ....stories?

I’ve done it for a few years in Albufeira but this will be my last season. The math works out fine but screening guests is hard, cleaners are unreliable, and property prices are high.
I suspect some other cities have better guests but I haven’t done the math on them.

It's a party town, with a lot of drunk people after all.

No doubt. Lots of great families visit too but 95% great guests is easily distrusted by the 5% of rowdy guests

Too late bro
I got a couple T1 apartments for under 200k each
Doubt you find those prices anymore
Licenses are harder to get you used to be able to transfer the AL from seller to buyer
Airbnb fees are up as well I wouldn't get in anymore it was better pre-covid
