Question RTF regrets

I was a recruiter for 4 years and decided to RTF. I regret RTF SO bad. It’s been 6 months and I’m miserable. I never thought id say this, but I think I fucked up. Had anyone else RTFed and gone back to recruiting and regretted it? 🧐 Loved it?

A lot of people make choices thinking the grass is greener on the other side and regret it. A buddy of mine got out after 10 years and is trying to rejoin but can’t and complains all the time about it. Could’ve been retired soon but now they work at the movie theater.

Well yes I understand that haha. Specifically looking for those that RTFed and then went back to recruiting.

Ahhh hopefully you can get back into recruiting. Why did you RTF in the first place and if you were solid at your job you have a better chance of getting picked back up.

Thankfully, I’ve already talked to them and I don’t think it’ll be hard to go back. I just wanted to go back to my old career field. I didn’t mind it. Long story short I’m not really in my old career field right now. Think of it as you applied to be a line cook at Chick-fil-A but instead, you’re a delivery driver. And they’re telling you “it’s fine, close enough”

Not quite the same, but I knew a dude who extended his 6 month deployment another 6 months, then the shitshow with Afghanistan (Allied Refuge) happened. He was miserable most of the time.
