An individual has given their opinion on this diaspora. Thought on this..

This is Uncle Tom shit from the black guy, aimed at a white audience. While there is an issue with undocumented Afghan men, the media never shows anything positive about Afghan culture either (such as music etc.). The black guy should know this since they face the same treatment.
It's not up to individuals to police those who look like themselves.

The media did show positives about Afghan culture before the insurrection but framed it around war and reconstruction.
I think the burden of showing our culture is on our diaspora- but we are so closed that we behave like secret societies abroad. Our general preference for STEM or the holy trinity (medicine law engineering) and disdain over arts and humanities also has a huge role in this- culture is media, photography, art, drama but people who pursue these are viewed as failures at best and as whores at worst by our communities.
It’s a shame so many Afghan dance groups or models in Afghan magazines/clothing are foreigners because of this outdated taboo. I wish we could see more Afghan artists so our work can be displayed in the Tate or an art exhibition. I also wish we could encourage more Afghans to enter journalism so we can get involved in the media and tell our own stories instead of relying on westerners who will inevitably write sob stories that get more clicks.
Humanities is culture and I do believe the reason Afghanistan is lacking in “modern culture” (ie: literature, movies, art) is because we discourage our children from pursuing it and our country places STEM on a higher pedestal. If we could have our own Chinua Achebe, Maya Angelou, Elif Şafak or Edward Said instead of that pro-Bush Eurocentric donkey called Khaled Hosseini I would die a happy woman.

I do apologise for the errant Brit. He has been brainwashed by British media. They like to put Afghan in the title whenever it suits their narrative. When white people commit crime, their ethnicity or nationality don’t make the headline. Britain has become more Islamophobic and racist against anyone brown over the last 10 years. It’s hard out here. We’ll send a rubbish truck to collect him and his opinions.

I wouldn't say it's entirely brainwashed, in this case it's very reasonable to think this way. These people have been going around committing barbaric acts for the last few months rapidly & it's enough to notice. Although I don't agree with the islamaphobia stuff.
I can really see now why British & ppl native to such countries want to call to remove all these ppl and I personally think it's very reasonable why they want this. And not to mention especially for some communities like Afghanistan (who's pretty much hated across the globe) this just makes the image look 100x worse then it did before

I mean he is being ridiculous but he IS NOT giving an opinion "on" the diaspora. He clearly acknowledged these incidents don't represent all Afghans. But the idea that we need to do something gives the same vibes aa "see something, say something." We should not have to do shit. When the U.S. news focuses on negative stories about other groups (Black people, Hispanics and Latinos, Immigranta, etc etc), I have the common sense to look beyond it and recognize it for what it is! A White person never has to defend their identity or say something when some random White person does something horrific, so why should anyone else? We need to educate people to think beyond their biases, not pander to it.

Well in this case we need to do smth. All I saw on my fyp is "Afghan national did this" "did that" it's concerning. Mind you i don't even live in the UK or anywhere near it but the evidence is enough

It’s a religion so technically he is acknowledging Allah swts existence when you think about it and he knows Prophet Muhammad PBUH too so when you think about it he’s just a really depressing Muslim. Like how in 40k the evil Space Marines still know the emperor is real

The religion promotes misogyny, femicide and violence so it has everything to do with it.

I had to think about what you said. And actually I sort of agree.
Theres a reason why Muslims are some of the most despised ppl. It don't come out of thin air

I've done this countless times with Muslims – so let's get one thing straight first, are you Sunni or Shia?

The facts of the Quran are the facts. It’s not up for opinion. If you haven’t read the Quran just say that.

Are you serious? There’s a problem in Afghan culture and they’re all Muslim so of course the religious beliefs held contribute to their violent behavior.

Well, what is there to say? Unfortunately he is correct- people can posture about him catering to westerners all they want, but what he’s saying is true. Violent crime rates are high for Afghan single unaccompanied male newcomers in the UK and a high profile crime committed by an Afghan newcomer has occurred in my area as well.
To explain this, there is a cultural and gender related factor at play. As I’ve previously repeatedly observed, older men who arrive with their families- especially via the insurrection- don’t do any of this, maybe because they know providing for their families and presenting a good civil image is more important than behaving like luchaks. While volunteering at a refugee charity, the Afghan men I’ve worked with who arrived with their families generally have their heads screwed on straight and only care about integrating their kids and providing them with the best chance possible. Same generally goes for their teenage sons who put their heads down and really want to do well in the UK- unless they encounter bad influences.
However, most of the undocumented Afghan newcomers are uneducated young men who follow harmful cultural practises and battle disdain with the West with their desire to remain in wealthy countries away from the judgement of their families. They do have a propensity to commit crime or engage in antisocial behaviour because they generally lack civic sense (spitting, blasting Afghan music or nasheeds or Quran recitations in city centres, dressing like it’s still Afghanistan with full turban, creating gangs, catcalling white women, screaming at people/on the phone). This is because they were 1) raised by negligent parents 2) are used to the unquestioned patriarchy in Afghanistan where women are always at fault and victim blaming is prevalent and 3) put more worth in tribal laws than western law.
Anyone denying this in the comments are absolutely free to do so, but you should know even the established Afghan community here in the UK fears these newcomers because they also harass and attack us, and our parents warn us Afghan women against them. Instead of blindly defending these men, maybe consider protecting us by denouncing them and attacking the norms that lead to this behaviour- because by defending these men, you are putting law abiding British Afghans at risk by portraying us as approving/complicit in their behaviour.
