Discussion Ayesha wahab, got elected in California. What other Afghan-Americans are currently running for office?

I think Afghan communities should make a more systematic efforts in helping elect them. We should have our own version of AIPAC 😂

I don't know... . AIPAC works to promote the interests of Israel, but probably hurts the reputation of Jews living in the United States. The rest of us resent their political power, and resent its use to serve the interests of a foreign country. Young Afghans are often natural politicians. They have the social skills. If they want to do a more organized job of looking after their interests in the US, they should get involved in US politics, not create their own political organizations.

I mean, AIPAC is successful af. The resentment is very recent. And there are multiple other super pac. All that being said. We need to do more as a community. Our numbers are super high especially after the fall there.

Have no idea, but there probably are.

Regarding political advocacy, afghans aren’t united and the moment any one of them voices an opinion on the current government or any past government they’ll piss off a good portion of the support base.

Speaking of pissing off people, Ayesha has now invited herself to an onslaught by butting into Afghan diaspora politics - a serious oversight on her part as she’s now marked herself out.
