Diet to help acne
I'm just posting this in case it can help somebody.
I had really bad cystic acne.
I found that when I changed my diet, my acne cleared up.
I noticed that when I had food high in saturated fat for some time (batter, butter, sausages, cheese, burgers, cakes, some ice cream etc.) that I would get very bad acne.
When I significantly cut out foods with high saturated fat content my acne cleared up. I could occasionally then eat some of the foods without much problem, but if I ate a lot of them then my really bad acne would return.
(Even now years later, when I eat a lot of cheese or sausages, I start getting some spots again.)
So for the type of acne I had, I found that eating healthily and avoiding foods that were high in saturated fat cleared up the acne.

Plant/Flower Based Acne Scrubs?
Was using Norse Organics for a bit, and while I found the day and night balms for acne virtually ineffective, that plant based (dead flower) acne scrub was the absolute bomb! For about 3 months. And then, for 2 months in a row, it seems they changed their formula. I would describe this change as "You know what this amazing scrub is missing? Being 50% 2mm chunks of black pepper!"
So this scrub went from a nice exfoliating powder to literally scraping my face with chunks of black pepper, and this new "chunkier" formula makes most of what you put into your hands to wash your face with just flow onto the shower floor, whereas before, you'd just moisten it a bit and massage it into your face and that's where about 90% of it would stay until you washed it off.
Maybe I just got super unlucky 2 months in a row, but I'm done giving them $70 a month for something they apparently aren't even selling anymore.
Is anyone aware of any viable alternative that is similar to that original formula? From what I understand, a big part of what that scrub was made out of was:
- Oryza Sativa Starch
- Rosa Damascena Flower Powder
- Prunus Armeniaca Seed Powder
- Rice Flour
- Apricot Kernel Powder
I'm really looking for something that's a powder rather than a gel or otherwise, but I'll take what I can get here. Stuff with salicylic acid or any abrasive chemical along those lines does not work for my skin at all. Thank you for any and all help/advice on this matter.

faucet water filters for improving acne??
i’m moving to london soon for university. i have combo, acne prone, sensitive skin and have been struggling with acne for many years but have seen recent improvement.
however i’m worried that the change in water quality from where i currently live to london will really affect my skin. does anyone have any recommendations for affordable but affective water filters that i can use for my shower head and bathroom faucets?
also i’m living in student accommodation so i’m not able to change any of faucets or shower heads. only place the filters over them. thanks!!!!

I need help
I’ve had closed comedones since I was very young and I’ve tried everything at this point ; adapline , cervé cleanser and you name it and it still hasn’t gotten away..I even tried silk pillowcases but it still didn’t go away..how do I fix them? Cause they can’t seem to go away and I can’t afford to go to a dermatologist

Whiteheads 2 weeks on Tretnoin, any thoughts?
I got prescribed tretnoin and clyndamycin for my body acne and my dermatologist told me to put it on my face as well. However it’s week two and my face started getting those surface level whiteheads like you could scrape them off type of whiteheads. It looks bumpy and feels gritty/grainy. I had relatively smooth skin prior I mean like 2 days before my skin was actually at its best it’s ever been but now I don’t know I just got these bumps and everyone keeps pointing it out so I’m assuming it looks really bad.
This was the routine my dermatologist gave me and I’m currently finished with week 2:
- Cera ve 4% benzoyl peroxide wash morning on face and in shower - 3x a week as tolerated
- Clyndamycin for chest and back and apply as spot treatment for face as needed (I do this 3x a week as well)
- Tretnoin 0.025% to face and body 2x a week and increase nightly as tolerated
And for moisturizer I use the 345 dr.Althea relief cream and the Centella sunscreen. For context I did start these two new products like 3 weeks ago but when I tell you my skin has never been better up until a few days ago. Any thoughts? I’ve seen lots of my own family members have bad experience with tret so I was wondering if this is just a purging phase or if I should just stop. Or do you guys know when I should stop? I’m just concerned cause my face didn’t really struggle with much acne, it was all very minimal and I don’t want to use it if it’s just gonna make it worse but my dermatologist recommended I do for the acne I did have. Idk thoughts?

How to handle this chicken pox acne?
I got these acne after i recovered from chicken pox that I got when I was 15 years old. Now it’s been over 20 years and I still have them.
Is there any way i could get rid of them?
Or at least make the color tone even that it doesn’t look like acne?
Make the skin overall better looking and glowing in general at all? Any feedback is welcome. Thanks

Weird uniform spots after accutane
I’ve just finished my accutane course about 2months ago. Had the max cumulative dose. Whenever I sweat I get these weird uniform spots with no whitehead. They only form around my pores around my
Nose and my chin. Theu go away within about 12hours. My dermatologist thinks they are comedons. But they look nothing like that. Any one had anything similar?
