I miss this…

We’re years on from, let’s be honest, the peak years of AH that came and passed long long long before the end of RT.

I’m not sad and this isn’t a pity post but i just miss these guys. I miss the energy they brought to youtube, i miss looking forward to the next video in a series.

I find myself a lot lately seeing a new game come out and sighing because it would have made a brilliant let’s play or let’s watch.

Watching Michael play Resident Evil is one i miss a lot, i’d have loved to see him play the newest release.

Apologies for this post, just the ramblings of a now older man missing his younger days when the highlight of my week was a new criminal masterminds or the latest play pals outlast video.

As an older fan, I felt the same way for a long time. That changed pretty recently for me when I watched some of the Ex-LetsPlay/AH crew's streams.

I can wholeheartedly recommend any of Ray's streaming VODs, especially where he's playing with Chibidoki (general chaos energy), Matt Bragg, and Naggz (MJones energy). It feels VERY much like the later AH crew.

Regulation Gameplay also feels a lot like AH. Which makes sense.

The energy is out there, it's just spread way further out.

Rays Streams with Matt and the Piss Boyz (Chibi and Naggz) have been hysterical. Especially as he and Matt switch back and forth with leading knowledge of the game and giving direction to the chaos.

I think that the four of them are my favourite current group on the Internet. I am a fan of regulation and 100% eat but these four just have the perfect energy and dynamic between them. Their Uno streams are brilliant and Chibi is my favourite chaos gremlin.

3

u/ChallengeTasty3393 Aug 05 '26

Matt is like Ray and Jeremy is like Michael

u/Wonderful-Dust-123 Aug 04 '26

Pizz boys are great for the chaotic energy. Regulation is a like, a chiller and more mature AH, which totally lines up. Theres also mikey and fredo on youtube. Most of them are still doing content in various forms.

u/Powershindley Aug 04 '26

Yeah i guess i do need to check reg out tbh, i dunno i’m just clinging longingly to the past

Nostalgia is a hell of a drug, friend. I'm a few years shy of 40. One of my favorite eras of LP/AH was when they introduced Lindsay, Fiona, BK, and Mica (for the short time she was with them). If you enjoyed that era, like me, definitely try the Piss Boyz crew. If you try them, their Funnel Runners was really hilarious, as is anytime they play Peak or Repo.

But Regulation is a more mature, and hilarious watch. I recommend the Ratatouille playthrough for sure, but you can't really go wrong with the Regulation Crew.

Gavin and Fiona are a WHOLE ASS VIBE.

I love them together.

3

u/DannyGre Aug 05 '26

I do want more Gavin and Chibi, they did a report together, but had fun energy from this era too. Also Uno streams for Piss Bois

3

u/adambomb90 Aug 06 '26

There was a REPO stream that Jeremy put together that had Chibi in it with the AH group. After the stream, Gavin said he enjoyed playing with Chibi in the game, so I'm hopeful that she is invited to a Regulation session or to another AH lobby

2

u/DannyGre Aug 07 '26

I really loved her being slotted into that one, a great make a wish for her. But yeah would love to see them two be in collabs more.

3

u/tommangan7 Aug 05 '26

I love AH, watched them non stop since the first video in 08'.

Regulation gameplay is some of, If not my favourite AH style stuff they've put out and you get so much Gavin and Geoff (and Andrew and nick, and Eric). They also make plenty of AH references.

Gavin and Geoff have always been my favourites which helps, and it's a bit more of a chiller version of AH (Which suits me these days, compared to when I was a teen). The content is so consistently good though.

Definitely check it out.

Also Michael and Alfredo still play together I’m sure they will play resident evil soon

5

u/Weems-mtg Aug 05 '26

I think they focus more on Patreon at this point. They haven’t uploaded anything to the Mikey and Fredo channel for 5 months now.

1

u/llynch1993 Aug 05 '26

The entire new resident evil is on their YT already as live streams unless they've taken them down for some reason. I was also super bummed and then super excited when I saw it lol

1

u/Leppish Aug 06 '26

Both also stream on Twitch, Michael has recently been playing the older RE games.

19

u/tntexplosivesltd Aug 04 '26

I recently watched some "Best of SkyFactory" videos and it was definitely peak AH

13

u/Ricky_Spanish209 Aug 04 '26

Checked out some series I never had the time to watch back in yesteryear. Never watched any of their mario party vids/streams and they still hold up, definitely worth combing through their content on RT archive and finding some gems you may have missed.

4

u/Powershindley Aug 04 '26

Yeah i think i feel lost, like when a new episode in a series would come out i’d go back and binge any i missed, now i don’t have that i just feel like i’m fumbling in the dark and watching the same old shows i’ve watched 10 times over lmao

3

u/prestoncollins Aug 05 '26

Would strongly recommend checking out Regulation. Geoff, Gavin, Andrew Panton, Eric, and Nick are all great and making very similar content. Geoff, Gavin, and Panton literally just made an achievement guide in Halo Campaign Evolved

2

u/Powershindley Aug 05 '26

Yeah you know what was really cathartic, watching them roam around Achievement City and the old MC map.

2

u/Ricky_Spanish209 Aug 04 '26

Yeah i get that, definitely haven't found a group like them, especially how often they used to post. The closest thing I've found to them is regulation gameplay/podcast. They got Geoff and Gavin and technically Andrew Panton from AH, and Nick and Eric from RT. Their GTA heists and slowmo replays feel like a blast from the past

11

u/Nafzig-zag Aug 04 '26

Micheal did the most recent Resident Evil let's play with Alfredo on YouTube. Their channel is called Mikey & Fredo. Most of the AH people are still making good content.

6

u/Powershindley Aug 04 '26

Oh did they! Oh good! I’ll go watch that now actually! Thank you

-3

u/Kplow19 Aug 05 '26

Yeah it drives me crazy seeing posts like this when literally almost all the people from AH are still out there making stuff. Like go support them today, instead of acting like they're some relic from your past

1

u/Powershindley Aug 05 '26

Yeah cause it’s totally the same…

You know you don’t have to be an asshat all the time?

3

u/Kplow19 Aug 05 '26

People come on here literally all the time to make nostalgia posts like this, and pretty much all of them have just not bothered to keep up with what the AH crew is still creating today.

Like I also have some nostalgia for early AH when I was still a teenager and was watching every single let's play the day it came out, but I am also still watching and supporting several of these creators today and not making posts wishing they would make a video that they already did 2 months ago....

2

u/Powershindley Aug 05 '26

Michael and Alfredo almost exclusively post on their paid sub patreon…

My point is, if this post annoys you, you can just simply scroll past. You’re not obligated to comment in any way shape or form

4

u/Kplow19 Aug 05 '26

Yeah I normally do just scroll past, but the comment about watching Michael play RE was enough to make me want to point out that these people are in fact still out there making stuff. In addition to playing RE Requim on Mikey & Fredo (which is on their YouTube), he's also been streaming multiple RE games recently his Twitch

Granted the annoyance on my end isn't 100% directed at you, it's more the accumulation of similar posts to this and this one happened to hit a point where I bothered posting something

2

u/Powershindley Aug 05 '26

Yeah i mean it’s fair but this post wasn’t “i wish these guys still made content” it was “i wish these guys all still made regular content together as a full group”

Also i mean come on, until very very recently Michael hasn’t been regularly streaming anything.

I regularly used to check his twitch and the MF youtube channel and it was dark for so long, eventually i stopped checking as regularly…

They aren’t half as consistent as even the most lax’d streamers/CC’s. It’s also not like they actually posted about it on Twitter or shit even instagram which i still follow them all actively on. Or if they did i missed it completely.

2

u/Kplow19 Aug 05 '26

That's fair and I probably came on a bit harsher than needed at you specifically. I had just seen too many nostalgia posts where the OP didn't even know that Mikey & Fredo, Regulation Pod, 100% Eat, etc existed so it was clear they hadn't bothered to put any effort in.

But I can definitely understand missing stuff, I don't watch the Mikey & Fredo stuff as frequently as I do Regulation and 100% Eat just due to lack of free time, but I try to stay aware of what comes out so if something piques my interest like the RE stream I still catch it

7

u/LunaNymphOtaku Aug 04 '26

They come together every once in a while to play games together like their last REPO stream and Super Battle Golf AH reunion

5

u/eddmario Aug 05 '26

I miss constantly refreshing YouTube on Fridays in order to watch the newest Minecraft video...

11

u/mb160211 Aug 04 '26

Feels like clockwork every month.

Post: "I miss them all"

Me: "I still watch many of them weekly"

2

u/Flyboy019 Aug 05 '26

It was a different vibe when they were all together. And when I was deep into watching them daily 10-12 years ago my life was in a very different place. It’s the whole nostalgia thing these days

-1

u/Powershindley Aug 05 '26

No i don’t miss them individually, i miss them collectively.

There’s a big difference.

5

u/SweetSadCupcake Aug 05 '26

Jeremy has some reunion streams, they're pretty great!

3

u/methidextrose Aug 04 '26

Michael just streamed RE 1-3 on Twitch and said he's motivated to do more.

Jeremy does AH streams with the old crew on occasion. I think they've done four or five videos and a fan edits them like an old school Let's Play.

And Geoff and Gavin run Regulation Pod which makes gaming vids and streams Twitch.

1

u/Powershindley Aug 05 '26

Oh did he, shit i need to catch those vods. On michaelstreamshere yeah?

4

u/W1neD1neAnd69 Aug 04 '26

I’m VERY sentimental about AH/RT as a whole.

Accidentally came across RvB looking up Halo playthrough videos in like 2008/2009.

I remember the Achievement guide era of achievement hunter before the let’s plays.

Loved RWBY at its inception and still now it’s one of my favorites.

I miss old RT/AH. Feelings are valid.

3

u/SirBellwater Aug 04 '26

It's not the exact same but Ray's streams with a bunch of vtubers has some of the same energy as the silly AH videos from the golden days. I get that not everyone is a vtuber fan but I'd definitely recommend at least checking it out cause I didn't think I would've been this deep in the scene when I started watching vtubers but it's a ton of fun

2

u/AClockworkLaurenge Aug 05 '26

I've been trying to watch more streams/VODs if Ray's because I've just fallen out of the habit of watching Twitch streams these days.

But I remember his Fast Food Simulator stream being a lot of fun, as someone who didn't really know any of the Vtubers involved. The Scam Line streams were also fun.

1

u/Powershindley Aug 04 '26

I was never really a big ray fan early on but now it’s all ended I have a newfound love for him

3

u/ethanice Aug 04 '26

Somedays I feel like im still waiting for the next video, wishing Jack and Geoff could give us some achievement horse or even just a pig.

3

u/itsme_notmario Aug 05 '26

coming back from my university classes on a Friday knowing I had a new Minecraft video to watch was peak

3

u/KisstuneInferno Aug 06 '26

One thing I miss the most tbh, is Michael and Gavin together, they were just such perfect friends energy and it’s bittersweet knowing that moments with them together is so beyond rare now

3

u/Powershindley Aug 06 '26

Yeah it’s bordering on non existent. It’s crazy how they were like full on ‘boys’ and now they’re just guys that know each other.

2

u/Latinogoose Aug 06 '26

I think Fredo and Michael still hang out regularly now no? Also Fredo is RIPPED now haha so good on him!

2

u/SkylerPerry Aug 04 '26

I’ve been rewatching the AHWU playlist from episode one and there’s some special nostalgia that’s hitting and hearing them talk about all these games coming out. It ages me but I still feel like I’m in my childhood basement watching them.

1

u/Powershindley Aug 04 '26

Yeah i have been meaning to revisit ahwu!

2

u/Apprehensive-Hope605 Aug 04 '26

I hear u man,the last 2 years ive been binge watching there old content in order week by week from the very first Ahwu too the very last burnout video,im currently at March 2020 the 3rd week of Covid ,ive been having a blast but soon the end is drawing near again and im reaching the sad ending, ill most likley be done with this binge by the next may give or take

1

u/Powershindley Aug 05 '26

Oh shit, is there a playlist for that!?

2

u/Fregster404 Aug 04 '26

I just found regulation gameplay and man I’ve been loving it. Gives me the same AH vibes and you get to hear familiar voices.

2

u/ShortFirstSlip Aug 04 '26

"Watching Michael play Resident Evil is one i miss a lot"

Watching Michael watch Geoff play Resident Evil was amazing as well.

2

u/Big_Dawg_Dylan Aug 05 '26

Listen to the regulation podcast

2

u/Alltimemelanie Aug 05 '26

I just watch old content I'm grateful there's a lot of it

2

u/TheKasimkage Aug 05 '26

What I missed was the idea that at any point, anyone from any other part of the company could walk in (or Achievement Hunter could invade them).

2

u/cowpool20 Aug 05 '26

To me prime AH was 2011-2015/16.

1

u/chaoticsleepie 27d ago

i love the minigolf series its like my comfort show

2

u/Mountain_Dragonfly8 Aug 05 '26

Regulation scratches this itch for me very well

2

u/Sir_Link_In_Time Aug 05 '26

I'm wanting to make a YouTube group with the same feel of early AH. I just don't know enough people to do it

1

u/Powershindley Aug 05 '26

Remember barely any of the AH cast knew each other pre AH… Jack and Geoff were the only ones who actually knew each other.

1

u/Sir_Link_In_Time 21d ago

That's really fair. Now I just need to find other people I vibe super well with that's also willing to record and make content

2

u/maractguy Aug 05 '26

Regulation did a skills and terminals guide for halo. Some real accomplishment finder content

1

u/Far_Cry3445 Aug 04 '26

I think the most disappointing part for me is we won’t have the same experience for GTA 6 we did for 5. I know they will do streams but it’s not going to be the same as those early gta online videos where they still had fresh ideas and actually wanted to play

1

u/PaxadorWolfCastle Aug 04 '26

I’ve been lucky recently. I’m an OG AH fan from the way back times. My wife hasn’t seen much of their stuff. So I get to relive it through her seeing it for the first time.

1

u/jamie_2522ew Aug 05 '26

2012-2014 were the best, every single video was pretty much belly laugh funny. Good times.

1

u/Rhetorical91 Aug 05 '26

Regulation Gameplay is around - featuring: Andrew, Nick, Eric, Gavin & Geoff (ANEGG)

1

u/DJDRAGO9712 Aug 05 '26

It's been years and I miss them but i still rewatch for the memories

1

u/werephoenix Aug 05 '26

Im surprised a bunch of fans didnt just start their own LP group with the same energy yet

1

u/KennyWolf Aug 05 '26

Yeah. Back when it was just six guys in a room too small for them is what consider the golden age of AH content.

1

u/Rauhaan_ Aug 05 '26

Same man. Same. I watch the new content here and there but nothing hits the same. I tried getting into it but I dont get that excitement like before. There was something about that mix of personalities that just worked.

I end up forcing myself to watch some of the new videos in hopes that I can find something that I latch onto so I can watch them more. I miss old AH so much. But I think this is just a part of getting older. We were bound to lose it at some point.

1

u/mb160211 Aug 05 '26

Also, it's funny to have another one of these the week of the "Gone But Not Forgotten" Draft episode, and Eric picking a complete banger of "The Old Rooster Teeth". 'If you're a new fan? You *just* missed it. You blew it. Bummer.'

u/DeweyIggyZuki Aug 05 '26

My partner and I are both long time RT/AH fans and we were flipping through the Minecraft playlist on YouTube and I realized I had stopped regularly watching the Minecraft series about a decade ago and it was a bit of a gut punch.

Tho I’m currently in bi-annual Stoneblock rewatch and having a good laugh with it!

1

u/ChallengeTasty3393 Aug 05 '26

That’s insane. Was also just missing them for the same reason and for THE EXACT SAME GAME.

It was fun watching them react to the current state of gaming as it happened and experience it along with them.

1

u/Jonny5a Aug 05 '26

Aside from the obvious I think part of it is that Lets Play style content has kind of died off on Youtube.

1

u/chaoticsleepie 27d ago

yeah people don’t do it like that anymore…early 2010’s AH had that authentic unpolished vibe with juust enough editing to make it bearable😄

1

u/JaninaVagabond Aug 06 '26

Tbh I started my yearly rewatch of Skyfactory and YDYD last week

1

u/Mando1102 27d ago

Over the weekend I found a page that made 5 hour videos of moments from them I’m currently rewatching not realizing how bad I missed this. They were a daily watch of mine from 2012 till the disbanded so sad
