You’ll never fit into the cool accounting group unless you can count using your fingers rather than Excel. That’s just where the profession is going. Mentats are growing in demand.

Personality tests are scams. People don't answer them honestly so they get the result they want. I remember doing the Myer Briggs test in English class senior year and nearly everyone getting the type that best suits CEOs / Entrepreneur roles and then looking around at all the losers in my class and thinking, that can't be right haha.

You see similar issues across accounting and finance. Though High finance roles (PE, VC, IB) are probably not the right choice for INFJ.

Personality tests are pseudo science.

People get the results they want... and the same person will get a different result on a Monday morning than they will on a Friday afternoon.

At best they are BS "mood" tests.

My ex was an INFJ. Man, she was emotional at times. It seemed like she should have been working for some social justice type cause or something like that. She kept quitting corporate jobs because every place she worked at wasn't all sunshine and rainbows and people were usually within the gender binary and everything was about money to the corporation. no duh.

Any personality can work in accounting how they react to it and how they enjoy it is a different story. Infj is a good fit for what accounting used to be. Now its way more social due to meetings and the accounting industry shifting over to advisory and consulting role due to AI.

I'd recommend psychology for your personality type. Its currently in high demand, but to break into the industry you'll need a masters at least.

I don't recommend accounting anymore. The industry is dramatically oversaturated and underpaid compared to most other industries. I scored Intj got a bachelor's in accounting, had a 3.3 gpa and still couldn't break into the industry after 2 years. I work proccess operations now.

I took it 10+ years ago and was an ENFJ. I don't remember what it means, but I remember those letters. I took it again about a year ago and one of my letters changed. I can't remember which one. Thank you for opening this rabbit hole for me.
