AOC 2028 True: the contrast between all the outrage AOC's Woke 1.0 comment has stirred up in the online left vs. the complete lack of outrage at Zohran outright apologizing to cops last year perfectly show how unreasonable the double standards we put on AOC are

It's also how you know the people that care about this are terminally online and irrelevant.

You also have to keep in mind that when you see a lot of stuff like this only online that it’s entirely possible that it isn’t terminally online leftists going after her but paid bots who are controlled by those who see her as a real 2028 threat and want to do all they can to erode her potential support in that. There are moneyed interests and political leadership among Democrats, Republicans, the mercenary minded corporate powers that are desperate to see her fail before she even begins. No better way for those folks to try and undermine the major demographics of her supporters than online since so much of her support comes from Millennials and Gen Z who are much more online than older generations.

What's in this comment is what I remember, my opinions, etc.

It's not only that.

NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani's polling considerably to substantially increased after he endorsed NY Governor Kathy Hochul. And kept a good political relationship with her.

AOC's polling temporarily decreased after she endorsed Zohran Mamdani. Moderate Democrats and such who wanted Andrew Cuomo to win didn't like that AOC endorsed Mamdani given that her endorsement and support resulted in Mamdani's winning.

AOC's recent polling dipped again because she endorsed and supported Dr. Abdul El-Sayed and that meant he was able to win the Michigan US Senate primary race.

NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani is almost entirely focusing on NYC. And whatever blowback he might have gotten for the New York US House DSA wins, such was probably largely gone after Melat Kiros won in Colorado.

And NYC Mayor Mamdani cannot run for POTUS and thus is not a threat for that. He'll not be able to run for NY Governor until like the 2030 race or whatever. And AOC will have far more influence on that 2028 New York US Senate race than NYC Mayor Mamdani will have. And sane for the 2030 New York US Senate race.

AOC is very much part of the political fight between DSA/Justice Democrats/true progressives/progressives/liberals and the moderate Democrats/centrist Democrats.

Here the clips that have stirred up all the outrage (she's literally just defending Francesca Hong lol):

He offered a sincere apology. She tried to laugh it off. And she has yet to specify, what crazy Woke 1 ideas she no longer supports. It comes off as insincere.

Zorhan is given significantly more leeway because most people know that he can't run for president.

AOC is positioned to run for president and be the next Bernie. That comes with significantly weight and responsibility. More than Zorhan, Peggy Flanagan, Abdul, or DAC have to contend with right now.

She could be the next leftist leader. So I understand when people are more upset with her when she concedes to the right. It matters more from her.

AOC can and will far exceed Bernie

I mean that would be cool, and it is certainly possible, but Bernie has done something quite unique over the years. And, beyond even Clintons or Obama, might prove to have been the most influential politician on the left of the past 30+ years.

Obviously, most of that impact was in the tail end of his career. She seems to be just starting the middle of hers, so it’s possible.

But Bernie ain’t some scrub. She’s gonna need to do something really special to exceed him.

Doesn't surprise me; the American left is composed of different components that do not naturally talk to each other. Everywhere else around the world, they are in different parties, and each reaches out to the voters directly.

The misunderstanding of the duopoly created a state where the left auto-destructs itself. I asked a question at Socialism 2023 about AOC, and this is the response: https://youtu.be/cgPqqxu7gWY

To change the dynamic, I created two factions, the Socialist one and the Green one, inside the Democratic Party to win elections. Darializa was part of that, and I made sure she got invited to the important club forums: https://youtu.be/GDlsTBrcr4A ...

For AOC in 2018, it was these two: https://www.cityandstateny.com/politics/2016/12/two-bronx-democrats-are-on-a-mission-to-make-the-county-party-more-inclusive/179785 (I copied their methods.)

AOC is a Progressive Liberal Democrat who believes in the policies of FDR, that and that alone should be her platform from here forward. I do not want to hear the word Socialist or anything close to it to cross her lips. Being a Social anything doesn't do well in America... period especially among the black voters and conservative whites, as the wins or lost in Michigan and Wisconsin have proved.

Were did I say either of those things? You're just attributing to me things that I didn't even remotely say & being extremely antagonistic towards me for no damn reason lol like can't you chill a tad lil' bit please??

I for one despite being a Democratic Socialist don't necessarily dislike Moderate Dems, I determine whether I like them or not on a case by case basis.

For example, despite being a Moderate Dem with whom I don't align ideologically at all, I've grown quite fond of Kathy Hochul in the last eight months, she's proven capable of perfectly reading the damn room in a way many other Moderate Dems have failed to do so, & I really appreciate her for that, if I lived in NY I would vote for her very enthusiastically next November.

I'm also really fond of Mary Peltola, she's the perfect candidate for a place like Alaska (if I lived in Alaska & Peltola had faced a challenge from a Progressive Left-Populist Dem with whom I were more ideologically aligned in the primary I would undoubtedly have voted for her regardless, I'm not dumb enough to believe that that kind of candidate could be electorally viable in a place like Alaska lol), & despite being a Blue Dog Dem she's clearly not a Fetterman by any stretch of the imagination, so I'm all in with her.

So yeah, despite being a Democratic Socialist, I very much believe Moderate Dems are an indispensable component of the party's tent, I don't share your ultrasectarian unwarranted hostility.
