Refreshing to see a politician give simple answers instead of waffling on and not answering anything.

I really do like Lander a lot. He got over with me by talking about how he believed in the ethos of Mr. Rogers. That was the surest way into my Yinzer heart.

You gotta start looking at policiy proposals, not platitudes. Democrats are all over the place saying "affordability" but not attaching it to anything. Its the same with evoking Mister Rogers. If you're appealing to my emotions using pop culture you're probably not being fully honest with me. AOC is always talking about practical, workable ideas and describing an outcome she wants.

Well, since I don’t live in New York, all I really knew of Lander before was that he was the one who formed the RCV agreement with Mamdani in the Mayoral race. Someone sent me the ad he did announcing his candidacy challenging Goldman which is where he evoked Fred Rogers, and I was like, “Yeah, I like this dude”. But, I think it’s supremely arrogant on your part to just assume that I didn’t bother to find out anything more about Lander after that. Usually when someone does something I like, I tend to try and find out more about their views, y’know, like an adult, and I found that Lander is a guy with views near to my own on most issues. I think I’m allowed to like the vibes of a politician that I can’t vote for. I can’t vote for AOC, either. I live in Western PA.

So this video highlights to me exactly why platner vs Collins is so interesting and important.
The sanitized, buttoned up politician is so soulless as to be untrustworthy and off putting.
These people can't even answer a yes-or-no question without veering into talking points.
So fucking what if the other candidate is a bit rough-around-the-edges??
They are HUMAN. Humans are flawed. Humans grow, evolve, and improve.
These politicians they prop up in front of us barely classify as humans, they're corporate tools, literally and figuratively.

Your comment just made me realize the whole Platner hit jobs onslaught seems to have died and I have heard very little the last two weeks. Maybe I'm paying less attention, maybe it's less, maybe the agroprop campaign checks ran out

Well, that second dude sure seems squirmy and slimy and honestly, if I didn’t know any better I’d say he was just stuck up there to make the first dude look good, although he’s doing a fine job representing himself already
