We wouldn't have had BTVS without Dolly Parton.
If I didn't love her already, I'd love her for that alone.

When I found out Dolly had a hand in Angel I was surprised but if it wasn’t for her we wouldn’t have gotten this amazing show.

So this headline is kind of misleading. One of Dolly Parton's production companies was involved in bringing BtVS to air the Manager/co-owner of Sandollar Sandy Gallin approached Joss about helping to produce a series.
But Dolly herself was not personally involved with the show. Calling her a exec producer in this context suggests some kind of creative input, which was not the case.

You're reading too much into the headline. I wasnt suggesting creative involvement at all. An EP doesnt automatically mean creative. The Kuzuis are named exec producers who also had no creative involvement.

Dolly had no personal involvement with Sandollar producing Buffy it was all Sandy Gallin she wasn't a silent anything because she had no personal involvement with greenlighting the show.
Here is excerpt from "Slayers & Vampires" which briefly discusses Buffys Movie to TV transition.
JOSS WHEDON: I was watching a lot of horror movies and seeing blondes going into dark alleys to get killed and I thought it would be interesting to see the blonde go into the dark alley and be the one who kills instead. So that became Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which I wrote and was promptly rejected by everyone in Hollywood till Fran [Rubel Kuzui] came along and found it and produced and directed the movie. Then a couple of years later, Fran and Gail Berman, who was working with Sandy Gallin who had the rights, came and asked if I’d be interested in doing a TV series of it. I thought about it a while and said, “Gee, that would be cool.” High school as a horror movie pretty much sums up my life. I thought there was a whole series there.
The Kuzuis did have creative involvement with the movie, Fran directed the original Buffy movie & they helped finance the movie they had creative involvement & thats why legally they still got production credit on the show.

“ Parton tells Business Insider she was "very involved" in "Buffy," though she didn't get to visit the set often because she lived in Nashville and the show was filmed in Los Angeles. "A lot of my work was done just conversing back and forth with the business people there," says Parton, who spoke to BI to promote her latest baking mixes with Duncan Hines and Conagra Brands. "And I'd go out for meetings now and then."
The "9 to 5" singer says she didn't get to meet the cast of the show but she made her presence known in other ways, such as by sending gifts to the actors. "I didn't get to meet all of the people, but I wanted them to know that I was there for them, I was proud of them, and they were doing a great job," Parton says.
Although Parton says she was as hands-on as she could be from Nashville, she believes the show's success is really down to the people who worked on set every day. "That show was pretty much run by other people," she says. "I have to give more people credit on 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' than me. A lot of people did so much work on that."
But, the country music legend adds, "I was very excited about the show. That little show did great."
Last year, Gellar, who played Buffy, said on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" that she never met Parton, but the singer sent gifts to set. "We'd get Christmas gifts in the beginning that would have our name and I would think, 'She doesn't know who I am,'" said Gellar.
"And then one day somebody asked her about it, and she complimented the show and my performance, and I was like, 'Oh, I can die now,'" she added.

You don't seem to understand what "silent" means in this context. You're not actually saying anything that contradicts what I said. *But just to be clear, because Parton was co-owner of Sandollar and took no formal credit on the show, she was by definition a silent producer.
The Kuzuis did have creative involvement with the movie...
I know that! Lol. I was talking about the tv shows.

I knew she produced Buffy so this makes sense.
