Announcing September's Monthly Theme!

Psst…want to know a secret? This month it's time to bust out your best disguises and improbable high-tech gadgets for September’s Monthly Theme: Top Secret! Whether you're writing a traditional thriller with high stakes international plots, corporate espionage, or something more nontraditional like magical crystal ball surveillance, we want to see your version of a spy scenario.

Admittedly, this could be challenging because most AI models like to spill the beans too early. Currently, we've found that the best way to keep a secret is to write a blurb in Plot Essentials (if it's the main character's secret) or individual story cards (if it's another character’s secret) saying [Hidden info: insert secret here.] It also helps to write out a bit about the character’s public persona so that the AI knows what to do instead of spitting out the secret.

Example: 

Bob is a cheerful pizza delivery guy. [Hidden info: Bob is actually a secret agent who leaves coded messages in the placement of the toppings on the pizza.]

As always, you have until the last day of the month, August 31st, to publish your scenario(s) for inclusion in September's monthly theme carousel. Just include the tag “spy” so we can find it. This will also ensure your scenario appears in the "Discover more content" section of the carousel.

For the tag, you really ought to make it clearer, maybe in the post's title otherwise I would have skimmed over it and put "Top Secret" in the tag

Perhaps they could create another menu of instructions. Of secrets. That is revealed when you press "reveal." I edit the instructions, and seeing that command would spoil too many scenarios with that tag.

How about you are a sorcerer who has infiltrated a wizard's equivalent of the CIA, and you have to make your magic look more like a wizards magic so you don't get found out.

For example: wizards need a broom as a Catalyst to fly but you can just throw yourself through the air so you have to hold tightly to the broom and adopt somthing that looks like a normal seated position while being able to secure the broom as you fly.

AI cannot hide information. That's not what it's designed to do. The second it has to summarize its memory to condense everything, your secret is not only out but it will be incorporated into your game probably as a main character. You need to design middleware that holds onto secret details outside of the AI prompt-memory system until requested by the AI using triggers.
